Thomas gets a unanimous decision. In a rematch its a lot closer but still win s.

Bit like the Spinks fights really..

Very competitive fight with this version of Holmes, lean towards Larry but I wouldn't bet on it.

Holmes would've won a close decision. Williams imo would outbox Thomas pretty clearly until he gets tagged with something big, the truth had better footwork and a far longer jab

it would be a very competive match up … keep in mind Carl Williamswas close to 6’5” w a huge 84” reach … a different match up than Pinklon … that said unless Holmes was 100 percent he could lose to that Thomas.

The 1985 of both men will see Thomas fumble a SD 15 to Holmes.

I believe Pinky would basically choke, he was never sensational against top competition, and even at this stage in Holmes' decline I think Larry would pull it off.

As good as his jab was, Thomas was just never that good overall.

    Just my opinion.

Thomas beat Witherspoon more convincingly than Holmes did, granted he as starting to slow down. Thomas was superb against Witherspoon. He also beat Weaver with less drama than Holmes. Yes Holmes had a cold and Mike wasn't getting any younger. The only guy he was off against at his best was Berbick, and that wasn't exactly a shutout. He started a bit slow against Coetzee in his first big step up but came home strong winning the majority of the later rounds.

Thomas wins eight or nine rounds clean and bruises Larry up.
Loses "Unanimous Decision" by two and three points.
40 years later, Jugheads on this forum would be using it as further proof that Holmes was the ATG Heavyweight.
