    Cordina says he and his team headed by Gary Lockett had scouted out González Quiroz and chose him based solely off looking at BoxRec and because of his KO rate being high. Originally the opponent was going to be a 9-0-1 fighter with fewer stoppages, and Cordina specifically didn't want somebody who's power he wouldn't respect, so he could feel "switched on".

    Not really. Wales has punched well above it's weight in boxing for many decades.. Calzaghe isn't it's greatest fighter either.. IMO Freddie Welsh is.. Go look up who he beat cupcake ;).. Jimmy Wilde is another too..

    I only caught the first 2 rounds and the last 3 and I thought JHGQ gave a very good account of himself and was doing better than the commentary team was giving him credit for even though they did acknowledge he was doing good work.

    Don't think this bodes well for Cordina's chances of winning another world title but JHGQ looks like a decent operator and I'd like to see him again
