Prime Tyson vs 41 year old motivated version of Klitschko who had nothing to lose and everything to gain that night. Apparently Tyson can't handle fighters who aren't scared of him and folds when the going gets tough.
@MarkusFlorez99 is a member of the forum with a strong stance and I like him, I think even Wembley Klitschko was dangerous enough to endanger anyone, including Tyson.
Old Klitschko was a lot slower than he was and frankly that's not good. However, he still had his technical ability and more importantly, he showed a lot of grit against AJ. Klitschko is a horrible style matchup for Tyson, looking to engage from afar, create space when Tyson moves in and then tying him up when close. Tyson always had more problems with guys like this. I favour Klitschko, even this older, slower version. Tyson's speed might see him close in and land his bombs. Could Wlad recover? Would Mike let him recover? Up for debate ...
If it’s prime Tyson then he is primed to win. Tyson either stops him within the first 5 or Wlad takes an early pasting then goes into survival mode and loses a UD in a survival clinch fest. Tyson’s defiance would bring the fear back into Wlad despite his motivation unlike against AJ where his eyes lit up seeing a way back in.
Tyson is a genuine POS in every single way. Not related to the contest, but just a fact worth repeating. As for the fight, Wlad would have little trouble with 5'10 Tyson. Wlad made Povetkin look like a little kid and Povetkin is a few inches taller and naturally bigger than Tyson. Also the Chagaev fight is useful to look at for naysayers. Wlad would smother Tyson close and from range jab and RH him. Once Tyson slowed down after a handful of rounds, Wlad would land his bombs, either RH's or huge hook and Tyson would go down. The notorious quitter would make AJ look like a lionheart and would just lie there like he did against Lewis if he wasn't out cold, which would be more likely since Wlad had more power. The only time Tyson fought anyone like Wlad in size/speed/power/boxing skills was against Lewis where he was smashed easily.
Yep. I just think Wlad’s jab keeps Mike on the back foot and puzzled for too long. Mike was a brilliant front-runner. One of the best there has ever been. Get him questioning what’s in front of him though and I am not sure I ever saw a plan B from him. Wlad’s chin was a little suspect and Mike might catch him. But he takes a massive risk in doing so and it’s not as though Mike’s chin was all that much better. I think he has to take more punishment against Wlad than vice-versa and that is where the fight is won or lost for me.
Welcome to boxing lmao all these people suck. OT: Tyson, prime Wlad KOs him but this version of Wlad was missing hooks and jabs on AJ, Tyson would be too fast.
Tyson by stoppage in my opinion. An aggressive Wladimir offered a spectacular match against Joshua, that attitude would have paid dearly against the prime Tyson, one of the best swarmers ever seen in a ring, against whom the prudent and defense-conscious Wladimir seen under the guidance of Emanuel Steward would have had a better chance of success.
