But what did happen is Vitali lost while leading on the cards and extremely motivated to come out for round 6 while lewis dropped onto his stool after that same round SPENT. And he seemed Verrrrry relieved when the fight was called. lol VERY relieved. Look at both their body language.

Absolutely true and obviously testament to Vitali copping some of Lewis’ best work (who was not quite as washed as many will have you believe) but given he was leading the fight and also inflicting his own damage on a quickly tiring Lewis it is hard to know with any confidence what would have happened had they ran it through again.

I don’t think the fight did any damage to either guy’s legacy. Lewis proved again how great he was and Vitali lost no admirers in absolutely giving it to the legend for 6 rounds.

 

I checked boxrec, all judges and fans claim that Vitaly was ahead on scorecards.

However, Lewis was 37 and Vitaly was 31. Not a fair fight.

 

Why? Because at the time of the stoppage, Klitschko was ahead on all three judges’ scorecards, 58–56 and if not for the unlucky cut Vitali was on his way to a win

 

I remember Canadian Russ amber was calling bs on Vitali after the fight, claiming his " Ra Ra Ra let's fight" stuff was strictly for the cameras. Think about it : quitting against Byrd because of a shoulder injury; ... While trying to continue with a heinous gash over his eye in post Lewis fight... Russ may have a correct point!
Edit: I take nothing away from this win for Lennox, to make it sound "cool" he was the only boxer in history to get in the ring lol with both klitcskos and NOT lose twice!! Think movie oceans eleven (if that even makes any sense at lol smh haha)

Yeah, you're probably right.

But the reason Lewis won really is that he had a lot more power. Everything else was worse. Point is, if Vitali had even Fury's power he'd probably have won that. If he had Wlad's power Lewis would have been out cold.

Vitali's power is really below average for a SHW. Almost every key/title fight was a LONG attrition stoppage. And the early KO's weren't weren't even proper KO's, like the Charr cut or the one where the opponent did a knee.

This was a rare fight where the one with the power and bad tank overcame the big chin without KO'd them, just doing flesh damage.

Let's be fair though. If Lewis is past-it at mid-30's, and I agree he was, what does that make Fury, AJ, Usyk, Wilder, Wlad, Povetkin at that age or older? When you do that, you realise AJ has no good wins, which is hilarious.

 

So I guess you're for the Dubois vs Hrgovic rematch too? Filip was ahead by the time of the stoppage and it was stopped on cuts too.

Klitschko: I came to Los Angeles two months ago. From the beginning, we discussed this fight against Lewis. He decided to fight (Kirk) Johnson, and then me in December.

I like to stay in shape and take fights, so I made the decision to fight on the undercard of the Lewis fight. Two weeks before the fight, Johnson got injured, and I saw this possibility to fight Lewis. Two weeks preparation and promotion is not enough. I had to change all my work and sparring partners, just like Lewis did. That is why we will see who the real champion is on June 21.
