Personally I think Leonard has everything to beat Crawford. Leonard has the speed advantage, I've never seen Crawford at a speed disadvantage and sugar ray worked mainly off the jab and wouldn't stand in front of Bud. I think Leonard has more tools in the pocket and thrived there too, better defense and I'm not even sure Crawford is a better counter puncher. Crawford is definitely a harder puncher that's pretty obvious watching film, he has great timing and probably more skilled but it's splitting hairs. I do think it would be pretty competitive

If Leonard can figure out Hearns and Duran, he'd have no problem figuring out Bud. I think he'd stop him.

He didn't really beat Duran2, he used constant taunting which should had been limited or warned, like Joe Cortez did to Hatton against Floyd. Hearns2 outboxed and defeated Ray. Possible that Bud could land some counters that would hurt him.

The more you watch Hagler-Leonard, the more you favor Marvin, so, likewise, Leonard could similarly sway a decision win especially for a first match. Bud is physically strong (might be stronger than Ray) and equally as big.

Highly confident Ray beats and likely stops Bud, especially if 15 rounds

Bud has no chance at all against the same guy that beat Duran, Hearns, and Hagler. On top of being smart, skilled, and very fast Leonard was also an assassin in the ring. The fast combos that he threw with mean intent would be too much for Bud.

Duran won his first title by hitting Ken Buchanan low.

IMO, it would be silly to wipe out Duran's loss to Leonard on the grounds that Duran quit because Leonard was being mean to him.

Until Bud can beat someone the caliber of Duran, Hearns or Hagler you have to favor Sugar Ray Leonard. Crawford has to at least beat Canelo to show he is that caliber. The current generation of boxers are starting to face each other, but they got kind of screwed out of a few legacy fights. If Crawford had beaten someone like Pacquiao or Mayweather then yeah you could say he is that ATG caliber. We have too many excellent fighters who can't seem to be beat, retire, and it's a bit of a black box of how good the new guys are.

The rules don't allow you to KO someone by groin shot if you're up on points.

It would frankly be ludicrous for Duran fans to claim Duran deserves a win for KO'ing Buchanan by groin punch, but Leonard II shouldn't count because Duran quit because Leonard was being mean to him.

    Just NO, CT.

He did hit him low, but that's not what win him the fight.

It literally won him the fight by TKO.

This is a question of perspective. Do you think it's more egregious to low-blow Buchanan to a TKO, or for Leonard to make fun of Duran? Because the idea that we shouldn't count the Duran/Leonard II fight against Duran because Leonard was making fun of him is kind of absurd.
