Floyd has been hating on Ali for a long time. Even after he passed away because he can’t accept people see Ali as the Goat. Roy simply doesn’t like that and that’s why he’s attacking Floyd

Roy was old then and after coming down in weight. Walking PED factory? Floyd also has his issues regarding drugs.

I think P4P Roy was WAY better than Floyd in his prime. it isn't even close

P4P if you shrunk Glass Jaw Roy down to Welterweight PBF even with his brittle hands would shatter Roy’s pathetic Chin.

That is if he could find his chin, which I doubt

Roy`s power was insane compared to Floyd`s, he was stronger than most light heavies and bigger and stronger than most super middles, he was jacked.

All the fighters that stopped Roy were harder hitters than Floyd who wasn`t a big puncher at welter his KO ratio at welter was awful.

Who`s going to upload that? The only way you get money from youtube vids is via patreon or sponsors which would go to the youtube channel uploaded the vid not Jones or Floyd.

I disagree on the part about RJJ taking easy fights. The rest you have excellent pints. The way I remember it was RJJ was so far above his competition that the concern became what fight can RJJ find that will be competitive? Hence the Lt HVY & the HWT jumps. Then when he came back down I think he for whatever reason was never the same. I'm sure weight had something to do w/ it along w/ maybe he just wasn't as focused anymore. I mean when he beat Ruiz he had just done something that hadn't been done since the 40's. So, again to reiterate, all valid points except the easy fight issue. They were only easy b/c of who he was. I mean the Tonety fight got a ton of hype and it turned out to be a 1 sided ass whipping. What else can you do to make a good fight when the other guy was just that good. Just my opinion.

I’m not saying Roy wasn’t above the competition. I’m saying what the narrative was. Yes, Roy was seen as the best and above his peers but at the same time, his level of opposition was criticized. Fights that people wanted to see that never materialized added to it. For example, what Dan Rafael said in 2002:
Compiled by Dan Rafael. Top pound-for-pound fighters as of June 13:

    1. Roy Jones Jr. (46-1, 37 KOs)

Hits: We're in no mood to compliment him until he fights someone who: a) is not
a cop, teacher or trash collector; b) has actually earned a title shot; and c)
is named Vassiliy Jirov, Dariusz Michalczewski or Bernard Hopkins.

Misses: Reluctant Roy is trying our patience. If he meets Clinton Woods next,
it's just another garbage fight. It's like the Yankees playing minor leaguers
and thinking a win is meaningful.

Even this article back in 05: https://tss.ib.tv/boxing/boxing-articles-2005/2772-the-legacy-of-roy-jones-jr
The criticisms brought up about his career sound a lot like the things said about Floyd.

With respect the link you shared was one of the worst written articles AI've ever read about boxing. FIRST, it literally dismisses the fact the Jones won titles in 4 weight classes. They act like he was dodging. IDK what else you do when your division is weak but jump divisions and take on challengers. Two: They mention so0me of his better conquests which include no slouches. The dude beat Toney, Hopkins, Virgil, & Heavey Wt John Ruiz who had a 40 lbs weight advantage, along w/ multiple LT Hvy dudes.

BUT THEN goes on to say if he were really great, he wold've taken on another quality HVY. It's INSANE to dismiss a guys accomplishment b/c even though he did something that hadn't been done in a CENTURY, b/c he chose not to be a TRUE HVY he was dodging. I'm sorry, that's just not credible. Dude was boxer of the decade in the 90's and IMO he's one of the most naturally gifted fighters who has ever lived.
