You can disagree with it. I'm just saying the narrative was out there. A lot of people felt Roy (especially after the 90s) was a guy who played it safe. Didn't really challenge himself. Didn't test his abilities to it's limits. Whether you agree with that or not is besides the point tbh. Do I agree that Roy isn't an ATG? No. But the same things were said about him that were said about Floyd which was my point. Roy was not viewed as a fighter who took on all challenges. I didn't say I agreed or disagreed with it.

Floyd's the guy that would talk a ton of shyte about other boxers and then do a rubber duckie when beatdown time came.

Who remembers "I'll do a poll and fight the guy they pick" ...? People picked Khan, and Floyd hit the brakes so hard he had to replace the pads on that one.

Who remembers "Golovkin is straight up and down, no special effects. Easy work" ... ? And then Floyd left a pee trail showing which direction he'd run away in, when Golovkin said he'd drop in weight and come down to 154 just for him.

    :ohno

Jones went up to heavy, glass chin and all, and won a title.

They will definitely get paid a big deal up to show up though.
It's things like these that not only give Mayweather and Jones attention, but an opportunity to new content creators to become popular and get a push to host this.

I miss prime RJJ. He was amazing to watch and I rewatch his fights often.

I dont miss any version of FMJ one little bit. He was boring to watch and listen to. I never rewatch his fights because they are boring and he’s a *****.

So Mayweather one of the most skilled and highest Ring IQ fighters of his generation wouldn’t be able to land a punch on Glass Jaw Roy who had no skills and no plan B in a fight and just relied on pure athleticism? That’s preposterous.

The Jones vs Toney and Jones vs Hopkins fights were extremely boring with the crowd booing for much of the Jones vs Hopkins fight.

I think the shots CWs Enzo and Lebedev slept Roy with would probably knock Floyd out too, if he, like Roy, was completely bereft of the skills to avoid getting caught with those shots that is, but there's no goddamn way in hell Floyd gets knocked out or knocked absolutely senseless by the shots Johnson, Tarver and Green knocked Roy out with, especially the love tap Grandpa Glenn laid Roy out cold with. Even the Floyd who fought at 130 would eat those shots up no problem :deal:

That was an outlier. Most of his fights were great viewing and Hopkins is right alongside Floyd as the most boring ATG fighter so I blame him for that.

I believe “Roid” (Roy) was comparing SRL & Floyd’s career & said Sugar was Greater based on Heart alone when talking to Andre ward on all da smoke podcast.

I think Roy was speaking facts myself
Floyd just felt a certain type of way bout it that’s all.

All of Roy's losses was after he bulked up to 200 lbs for the heavyweight title and then shed all that muscle back down to 175. He showed the blue print you can't just do that, and nobody has done that since from any weight. Even Nonito Donaire when dropping back down from a career high 126 was less than 10 pounds back to 118, and most of his weight at 126 was fat anyways not muscle.

Once you move up in weight you stay there. Lest risk changing your body too much coming back down where you're never the same again.

He didn’t fight Lennox. He fought the lesser fighter so let’s get over this please.

Yeah I'm tired of people shitting on the Ruiz win just because he didn't fight Lennox. As if Roy didn't beat a title holder (mediocre as he was for Heavyweight standards) that weighed 50 lbs more than any guy Roy had faced by that point and 70 lbs more than Roy did when he first started his career at 154.

Floyd only visited 154 like 3 times, one against Oscar who was meh at the weight, Canelo at 152, and Cotto who was a blown up Welter just like Floyd himself. But nah, he clearly risked more.
