I feel like it could to be a KO either way. This is very close to a 50/50 fight. If Sheeraz improve his work rate, he could win by TKO. If he fights like he did in his previous fight, he could get KO’d himself.
South American puncher fighting away from home against an overhyped British fighter who gets by on careful matchmaking and being the house fighter. Yes, there is pattern recognition at this point on the outcome.
I'm leaning towards Sheeraz and am surprised to see that the odds have as the slight favourite, though they are pretty close. If he makes it out of the first few rounds without damage I think he can fight to a decision, though I wouldn't be surprised if he landed some nasty shots on Berlanga. Sheeraz because he just looked way too big to be in the lower weight classes and I expect the extra condition he can have in his prep will make a little difference in a lot of areas like his chin, stamina etc etc. That plus he has Andy Lee in his corner now who so far has noticebly improved every fighter he has worked with and is a great tactician in the corner which can help as Sheeraz can look a bit lost later in fights.
I know folks see stoppage, but I think Sheeraz fights ultra cautious and keeps Berlanga on the end of his jab for a UD. But if he get's caught then who knows!
2 C-grade cruiserweights who boil themselves down to the bare bones, I think people are overrating Berlanga massively, apart from knocking out club fighters, his only test at 168 was a fight against Canelo, where he looked completely out of his depth. I think it's too early to classify him as a puncher because he hasn't stopped anyone of note. Sheeraz isn't a world-level fighter at 160 or 168 either. I think it's a good, fun fight, but it won't be one for the purists. I can see them both hitting the canvas at some point. Sheeraz looked lost against Adames, but Adames would beat Berlanga pretty easily as well. Ammo Williams is a much better win than anything on Berlanga's resume, too. Sheeraz has the better wins, but I'm not impressed with either of them. It'll be interesting to watch and see how it goes.
People seem to have forgotten that Adames got the hell beaten out of him by Patrick Teixiera and lost, got a gifts against both Derevyanchenko and Terrell Gausha, and was being out boxed for long stretches against J-Rock Williams. He's garbage too, and it's unlikely he can beat anybody at 168.
Andy Lee says Sheeraz has come on leaps and bounds since they've been working together and that he punches extremely hard. He says he's been lifting LHWs off their feet in sparring and that Berlangy is going be caught off guard as soon as he feels the weight of his jab Berlangy's a D level hype job with shaky whiskers but he's massive for the weight weight bully and he can punch. I fancy Sheeraz via stoppage but he can be hurt himself so it really could come down to who lands first. Sheeraz looking fast and powerful on the pads This content is protected
I don't disagree, 160 is woeful at the moment, but Berlanga is a different level of dog****. Sheeraz was dreadful against Adames, but his win against Ammo is much better than any Berlanga win, even if it was at 160.
Andy said the thing which suprised him the most about Hamzah was his power, he said Hamzah in sparring 175ers and lifting them off their feet lol
