BEAST mode! The thing that stands out is how nimble he is in the opening seconds. Oh, and how precise his punching is.

I wouldn't pick Wilder over any legit heavyweight champion.

My word you're blowing enough hot-air to heat up New York.A broken jaw is a broken jaw no matter who the opponent is.Liston showed commendable courage and determination in what
was only his 8th fight. Why on earth are you referring to Johnson vs
Ketchel ? Did Ketchel break Johnson's jaw ? Why bring this up ?
As for the myth that Liston quit against Ali there have been several threads detailing the extreme impairment of Liston's shoulders before the Ali fight.
Liston showed courage even stepping into the ring with his ongoing shoulder problems.Liston did ' find an opening ' when he was taking several punches from Cleveland Williams but no doubt in your obsessive campaign to discredit the heavyweights of the 1960s and 1970s you will dismiss Williams as feather-fisted.

I paid a lot of money to watch Fury- Wilder Can one of you gentlemen or ladies, there are a few on this site, please explain to me how these two combatants showed the evolution if not revolution of the heavyweight division. Thank you in advance.

Yeah imagine the 7th ranked LHW fighting Wilder lmao.
    Im talking about the rematch.
Got knocked down in the rematch and couldn't KO him in the 3rd because his feet are slow.
    How is this relevant?
    In certain situations yeah.
They have the same amount of RTD wins so this doesn't change anything.
Them being unranked changes nothing about this conversation, regardless of their skill level these were all 6'3+ 240+ lbs men that are undoubtedly a lot tougher than the small fellas Liston was KO'ing and sometimes failing to KO.
I honestly don't even understand what you are trying argue anymore. Why are you telling me all this? What are we discussing here? No one denies Liston having a better resume than Wilder. None of this relates to our topic, which is punching power. We can also debate about why Wilder flatlines Liston and even that wouldn't have much to do with this.

How do you explain lil Marty knocking him down in the rematch? Imagine a 170-180 lbs dude knocking Wilder down, we'd never hear the end of it.

I literally just did and he turned out to be 191 lbs. Lighter than Berlanga against Canelo lmao.

Your last two points have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Wilder did the minimum deeper into his reign. In the first Stiverne fight and his earlier defenses, he let his hands go a lot more.

Stiverne was a lot like Liston. Stumpier reach and crappier work rate, but also 240 and used to fighting full sized heavyweights.

That’s a bridge too far but IMO he’s not touching the real elite of the division.

People are all over him because he’s recent and fresh and has a big punch. IMO he will be an afterthought in 50 years, Liston won’t.

Like I said, he would defecate himself to see Sonny Liston standing in front of him. Wilder is a faux badass. Liston was the Real McCoy.

Liston being used to being the stronger puncher over his opponents could possibly walk into a huge right hand when facing the long and tall Wilder. However short of that one scenario, the superior boxer and good punching Liston would dismantle Wilder with his offensive punch variety and knock him out inside 4 rounds.

    What odds am I getting?

With the right punch Wilder could disintegrate a lot of boxers.

How do you explain Sonny Banks knocking down Muhammad Ali ? Ali had one of the
greatest chins in history. These flash knockdowns do occur you know.Liston,in
his prime, withstood the hardest punches from Cleveland Williams and Nino Valdes.
These 2 guys could really crack.Liston had a great chin.
So Berlanga managed to boil down to 167.5 lbs.Do you honestly think Floyd Patterson
could get that low at a fighting weight ? I presume Floyd is the guy you're referring to
    re 191 lbs.
I was perfectly entitled to refer to compare Ali's and Liston's fights with Floyd Patterson
as you compared their fights with Chuck Wepner.
