Respect to Shakur. I haven't been scoring the rounds but it looks like he figured out Zepeda's offence and pulled it out.

 

As a bit of a Shakur hater I thought he put on a great performance vs a game opponent. Far more effective punches landed compared to Zepeda's show shining.

115 - 113 Stevenson. Competetive but Zepeda appeared to run out of steam around the 6th, and his aggression wasn't effective or had a high enough volume to beat Stevensons quality.

Started out ultra competitive, then Shakur just pulled away.

The way the commentary were fawning over Stevenson tells me the judges have been told not to score it that way.

 

Let's address you giving Zepeda the 6th round.

 

7-5 Shakur. He took over in the second half. Zepeda is too basic. No defense, feints, level changes, etc. Just coming forward throwing punches. Shakur started to see that to the point that even on the ropes, he started to get the better of Zepeda.

 

Very fun fight, both oughta hold their heads high after that one.

 

116-112 Shakur. 115-113 is fine also.

Stevenson won his rounds much clearer than Zapeda did his, and swept the late rounds, so he has to get the decision.
