True but he pushed my patience to the limit and Usyk is literally one of nicest, most humble, likeable and honourable sportsmen of all time

Like I said, when Shakur hits gloves they're scoring punches, when Zepeda does the same Shakur is a defensive genius

Also, the body shots don't count crowd strikes again! Shakur would land a one two, then Zepeda would land a jab and then tee off to the ribs and land 6 in a row. Even three blind mice could've seen and scored them. But nope... inexplicably... they didn't see ****!:sherlock:

For what it's worth, I'm 100% standing by my scorecard. You can all go **** yourselves!:fusmile Shakur by a point is fine. But by near shutout, like the whoring judges had it, is ****ing despicable.

Yes, Zepeda was landing way more body shots throughout but those aren't scoring punches

What I take issue with is people having Shakur up after 4 rounds. Zepeda arguably won all 4 of those rounds but he definitely won at least 3 of them.

Zepeda was definitely ahead after 5 rounds I can't fathom how anyone could believe Stevenson was won a majority of those rounds when he was getting tattooed along the ropes especially with the body shots.

Its up for debate how many of those early rounds Zepeda won but I would say he has a strong argument to winning a majority of them.

You knew he wasn’t getting a decision there. Shakur kinda fought this fight like he knew whatever he did would be fine so let’s just make it fun. Let’s call a spade a spade. Almost all his success came when Shakur languished on the ropes. When Shakur was in open space and shoulder rolling he was in complete control. I don’t wanna say he was toying with him but it felt to me like he fought with a care free attitude. I thought Zepeda won 4 maybe 5 rounds bc Shakur just insisted to chill on the ropes for many of those rounds. Good account of himself for Zepeda overall.

This right here is why I liked this fight. I didn't score it because I came in as a fan of both and just wanted to kick back and enjoy it, and I believe they both had their most challenging fight and brought the best out of one another. This was a very entertaining one that lived up to the hype myself and many others gave it. Like I said, both men can be proud with what they did.

Which is why I was so disappointed to hear the cards were so wide. Maybe I shouldn't say since I didn't score it, but I dunno man, feels like them being so wide is kind of baffling. They just didn't tell the story of the fight to me, and that's disappointing.

Oh well though, least this wasn't a case of the winner getting wide cards and having no case for winning I reckon.

It's because the boxing media, and I say this as someone who's a big fan of Jim Lampley, have become ruthlessly lockstep in pushing a narrative. If the narrative they're pushing isn't happening in the ring, they simply ignore it, and push right through it. They're that shameless and relentless, if the square peg isn't fitting in the round hole, they get out the jackhammer and pound it until it does. That very much was happening tonight, wit but Jim and Tarver literally ignoring everything Zepeda was doing early on like it wasn't happening. As much as I dislike Coppinger, at least he was the sole voice of reason and was interjecting some truth bombs on occasion. Whether boxing fans want to admit it or not, they are 100% influenced by it and are too scared to deviate away from that herd mentality.

No, Shakur was smiling like the asswipe that he is, attempting to influence the viewers and the judges. It was a bluff. Zepeda was pinning him on the ropes early on, because he was forcing him onto them and keeping him there. He eased off after 6 because he was tiring. Still, most of the later rounds, there were ebbs and flows, and certainly weren't one sided, as reflected by the incredibly close punch stats. Shakur was supreme in the middle of the ring, then Zepeda would take over along the ropes. Making the rounds far closer than people were giving them credit for. The last 6 rounds that Shakur supposedly dominated, he outlanded him by 19 punches and that's combined.

The wide cards make people emotional, I get it. We all know what this sport is. It’s more business than sport. However, The right guy won. It’s just the wide cards trigger people into a thought process that says why do I even bother watching this stuff.
