    Middleweight 15 rounds.
A battle of rugged body punchers , with excellent counter punching abilities.

    This could be brutal!
    Who wins?

A 22 year old Canelo was 173lbs on fight night at LMW. I would guess him at close to 180lbs on fight night for his MW title fights. Under the weigh in rules of Cerdan's era, we'd have to imagine a different Canelo to the one that existed, because the one that existed would lose on the scales.

If you're transporting the Cerdan that actually fought, against the Canelo from his MW title fights, with modern day in weigh rules, you're spotting Canelo not only the advantages of PEDs, but almost 20lbs in the ring, too.

Different times, different conditions and rules, different sports.

That's what makes some of these fantasy matches hard to pick a winner.
Really we should be ok putting middles from all eras together, unlike heavyweight where the size difference is incredible, but with peds and whatnot it makes it difficult.

Cerdan is a very average world champion, he isn’t even the best French MW. Canelo batters him.

Cerdan is very good. But perhaps not strong enough to deal with Canelo. Canelo by decision in a competitive fight.

    Exactly,

or the quick & easy way to do it is, Alvarez back then is a MW cum L-HW. Today Cerdan would be a Lightweight cum Welter.

Never the two should meet, unless it's a Catchweight contest of say 170lbs, were Cerdan is not worring about weight and Canelo must come in at 170 same day weigh-in.

if Crawford stretches Canelo that might put a new light on Canelo, though in fairness he is nearing his end, mind you Cerdan won the title at his end too, 15 years in.
