Too much hate. At least he tried. And mentally he was way tougher than other sons of rich and famous people.
I liked that guy. It's true that when I watched his debut I made some fun of him, but later on when I saw him tryhard-ing I just watched his fights with interest to see if he could improve. He improved, nevertheless he is quite limited. He tried anyway, he didnt do it as bad as people like to say. Not champion material, but it doesnt matter
Your health, youth and giving yourself time to forge a career or skills to earn a living outside of boxing far outweigh his earning potential in the sport so it's the right move.
I'd say one year, if you push me. I've checked in boxrec. 1 year and 3 months, from 1934-07-20 to 1935-10-07. They were made of a different material
I remember before his debut they created a montage on Dazn for him and Eddie was was in it saying “If you loved Ricky Hatton, you’re gonna absolutely love Campbell Hatton” with a smirk on his face like he’s got something good on his hands lol
True but Hatton's was only like 3.5 years and he only had 2 losses to Conn's 6. If Hatton had believed in himself and persevered maybe he could've gone onto become an ATG and have his ''I nearly beat Joe Louis'' moment too
The early retirement also shows that his heart was not really in it. But yea, I agree. He wanted to do what his dad did, put in the work, and walked away at the right moment. I respect him for that.
