Who will you be rooting for: Daniel Dubois or Oleksandr Usyk?

If Dubois wins, we are probably in store for a rubber match. I'm so tired of heavyweight rematches. I didn't even want this pointless rematch. Usyk knocked this guy out with a jab. These guys fight once a year, and I'm sick of them wasting fights on the same opponents for fights that were not even close or particularly exciting.

 

Its not an undisputed title fight.

Theres THREE interim champions.

You know just like how Richard III wasn't the undisputed King of England because of how many claimants there are! You've been in this boat before.

 

And fans will be like

I miss Wlad. No ducking no drama just fighting the top contenders over and over. Like a real champ.

 

As a fan of the sweet science I'm rooting for Usyk. However, as a British fan... well actually I'm still rooting for Usyk. I just dont want to see him lose to this headbutting Billy goat who didnt have the gonads to fight Parker so pulled out because he had a sniffle.

 

I agree 100 percent. It's also shutting down motivation for contenders to fight their way into a beltshot when that opportunity is just filled with rematches.

Got nothing against Dubois, he's a nice lad but Oleksander is somehow a special guy. A real man! A legend!

I get the argument that, due to his age, a passing of the torch fight is 'better' for the sport overall. But boxing rarely has happy endings. Yet I find myself rooting for Usyk to get out on his own terms, undefeated. I think his resume and his conduct deserve it.
That's why he'll probably go on until he loses...

 

Undisputed meaning, no doubt as to real champ because real belts are all his. Interim as in, challenger, but they're given a fancy belt for politics.

 

I want Usyk to beat Dubois, Parker and Kabayel and retire with an unblemished record, so rooting for Usyk.

I bet on Dubois as well, I thought the odds were great for the underdog in this fight
