He ran from hard rematches, he didn't want to fight Machen like he didn't wanted the 3rd fight with Ali.

Hard rematches? So losing to Marshall then rematching not once, but twice, isn't as hard as rematching a guy he widely outpointed?

Word has it he sweated profusely in that first fight with Marshall as well. How can it get any harder?

WTF would he have a THIRD fight with Ali ? He lost convincingly twice and then was black balled from the sport by the politicians. There was never going to be a THIRD fight with Ali.

BTW, why was Brian London able to take Ingo the 12 round distance when 11 other guys managed to stop him ? Do all those other guys hit harder than ingo ?

Yup I’m gonna need a source for that, because it sounds like bull and completely out of character for Machen.

Then why there were 3 fights with Marshall?

Why there were 2 fights with Williams but not with Machen or Folley?

Yeah, but Marshall was easier fight than Machen also he didn't rematched DeJohn but rematched with Patterson and Williams, because he knew he could only beat them.

Folley got destroyed and Machen was soundly outpointed after fighting a mostly defensive fight the whole night. Do you think EVERY match requires a rematch ?

Patterson/WIlliams were destroyed too but they got the rematch.

Machen was not just outpointed it was highly competitive fight.

Patterson was a defending champion. Not uncommon to get a chance to get your title back. Williams gave Liston more problems in 3 rounds than Machen did in 12. Hey , why didn’t Hans Friedrich or Archie McBride get rematches against Johansson? After all, THEY took him the distance !!

Defending how, with being KOed in the first round twice?

Laughable, Williams was only good at throwing wild lefts and getting knocked out. Machen frustrated Liston for 12 rounds, and if it were a 15-round fight, we might even see an upset.

Williams both fought and Patterson fought, and neither fight lasted as long as Machen's in one fight, and neither gave Liston problems like Machen.

1, Patterson was the defending champion in the first fight. A champion getting a rematch right after losing the title isn’t something that a poster with a screen name like “BoxingFan” should be foreign to.
    2. You need to watch Listons fights with Wiliams
