Incredible fighter I've never seen a heavyweight as technically gifted. Only Ali can challenge his skills wise

Ali never threw a bodypunch in his life. Ali wasn't that skilled.

He just floated like a butterfly and knocked down some stiff trees. Athletic. He was slick quick and pretty. Stick and move. At 38 Ali was finished. Usyk is 38 and performing like that?

Usyk is supreme focus & skill, almost always in position.

Usyk doesn't do stupid things like rope a dope or clinch like an octopus.

I don't want to say it as I like the old fighters better, but he's the GOAT heavyweight.

I've been away from the forum for some time.

Is miniq finally a reformed person?

Nothing I said there is different to how I felt for years. There is a big misconception about Ali from many people for some reason. Mike Tyson said it well:

"He’s fast but he really doesn’t have any great qualities that you can really see besides his agility. Not afraid to let punches fly. But other than that he never threw a body punch in his life. He doesn’t have a good defence. His speed was his defence. The way he’d move from a boxing perspective. Ali is an animal. He looks more like a model than a fighter, but what he is he’s like a tyrannosaurus rex with a pretty face. He’s just mean and evil and he’ll take you into deep waters and drown you. He’s very special. The best in the world. Nobody beats Ali. Its not muscle memory its concentration. Its him doing it. Never stopping and he’s dead tired" Ali was raw heart and determination, tough as hell willing to die in there.

Ezzard Charles was finished his his mid 30's while Archie Moore was champ till he was nearly 50. Moore isn't greater than Charles.

Louis had a fantastic arsenal but sometimes looked pedantic with the footwork. I'd bump him for Tyson (real Tyson).

Real Tyson got knocked out by Tokyo Douglas and pushed to. The brink by Ruddock.

    He's not in this discussion.

I don't know how old you are, but if you watched in real time, his prime of using Peak-a-boo, head movement and combinations ended by the first Bruno fight. Personal problems, lack of training, arrogance and drugs took their toll long before Tokyo. My words about two days before the fight were:

"It ain't going to be Douglas, but someone is going to beat Tyson in his next few."

    A miss is a s good as a mile, I guess.

Usyk beats a coke head x2 who nearly lost to a cagefighter, as well as Joshua, who is apparently a bodybuilding bum, and Dubois, who is as rudimentary and stiff of a heavyweight I've ever seen at world level, and suddenly he beats Ali. Quite the jump. He's an ATG cruiserweight, and a legendary HW. But his HW is thin, recency bias has people thinking he's the terminator. I don't think Usyk beats Holyfield at cruiserweight, never mind Ali at HW.
