Over the past 25 years, Lennox's legacy has only got better. It would be interesting to know how people judged him in the realms of history back then though, as we are with Usyk now. If he retires undefeated, I think in 25 years time, Usyk will edge further up the list.

Absolutely not. This forum always goes with extreme takes whenever a forum favorite wins.

    agreed.

Its just silly. Dubois is not as good as many of the heavy hitters from other eras. His only impressive win came vs Joshua and Joshua fought a terrible fight moving back in straight lines with his chin in the air. This wasn't prime AJ that dismantled Povetkin.

Dubois's other wins came over a relatively unproven Hrgovic whose only impressive win was a controversial decision vs Zhang. And Dubois basically headbutted Hrgovic to win.

No way would i rank Dubois in the same league as Lyle, Cooney, Coetzee, Ruddock, Tua etc. And yet somehow beating Dubois is the equivalent of beating a prime Foreman.

I like Usyk and am glad he won. ATG. Bonafide ATG. But not the greatest ever.

Dubois packs glass and just isn't that well schooled. It makes Joshua look bad, certainly current day Joshua. He was always somewhat fragile tho.

I don't know if he's the greatest heavyweight, because he's not a career heavyweight, but he's one of the greatest ever.

It's rare to see a fighter with the combination of fundamentals, technical skill, footwork, and ring IQ of Usyk. To top it off, he's a southpaw. He's basically a H2H monster.

If you transferred any of the past greats to a ring today, they would legit struggle with Usyk. None of them have fought, sparred with or even seen a fighter like Usyk before.

Plus the rule differences, they would take a few rounds at least to adjust and by then Usyk would have an unassailable lead.

This is compared to Usyk who has grown up on watching Ali, Foreman, Liston etc, he would know all those guys games inside and out.

I get what you mean. I am also not sure if he is the h2h goat. But if you look at the density of his performances, his last 6 fights being exclusively against the absolute top of the division and even chisora went on to achieve a lot surprisingly... With the old fighters people seem to forget the lackluster performances all the time. Lewis was absolutely amazing but got cought a few times and accumulated his greatest performances over a long time. Usyk does this now every fight. Each time. Dubois is no Foreman, but these older greats don't beat him just for fun without really commiting to the fight.

So Usyk definitely belongs in the discussion and serious arguments have to be made in order to push him down do second, third or fourth place...

And to be totally realistic - there is a class of fighters with guys like ali, holmes and lewis amongst others where noone realistically can say that one would rather beat the other because they are all just too good to know. And usyk belonged there already before this fight.
