Before we get any of the revisionist nonsense that is sure to come, for me, that was Usyk's best win. I may be a lonely voice but I rate Dubois and picked him to stop Usyk this time. I didn't think Usyk had the strength or the power to do what he did tonight and whilst many will disagree with half of my next statement, he made the most dangerous man, the in form man, in the division look like an amateur tonight. I have never been more impressed with Usyk. He didn't let Dubois settle. He kept him off balance and thinking and by the time Dan could actually relax and get some fluidity going, maybe midway round three from memory, the doubt was planted. Usyk looked as comfortable with his back to the ropes as anywhere and that last punch was impeccable, everything from it's placement to the way it was thrown, his head position, everything. A masterclass in efficient brutality for me. Well done Usyk, king of a generation. Nobody is close.
I think he looked great in the Dubois fight, but his best win has to be Fury. I get what you are saying though in that it seemed like he just decided to beat Dubois and fought as near a punch perfect fight as is possible.
Oh, coming back from those big rounds v Fury and AJ fight 2 were huge achievements but he had to be hurt and in trouble to do so. Tonight was punch perfect against a dangerous man. If he hadn't been perfect he'd have had similar rocky moments bit he had clearly downloaded Dubois and simply did not put a foot wrong. He is so efficient.
Fury 1 and not even close. Some of us told you this would happen. Dubois is a terrible style match-up and has only made minor improvement since last time. Briedis is a better win than this.
It's not even close to his best win at Heavyweight he was an overwhelming favourite against a fighter he'd already beat easily the 1st time. On paper his best win would be Joshua 1 who he was an underdog against or Fury 1.
Perhaps we have our wires crossed. It was his best win for me because it was flawless and I have never seen Usyk flawless against a heavyweight before. Has he shown more resilience before? Of course. But I don't think he has ever shown such consistent skill at the weight.
