I think we have done these so many times. Usyk vs Lennox. Usyk vs Ali. Usyk vs Frazier. I don't mind creating a new thread for a match up that was discussed a couple of years ago but i am sure we can find at least a few threads which have discussed this recently. To answer: we don't know. Lewis's defense was average vs orthodox fighters so it likely would be even worse vs lefties. Lewis vs Corrie Sanders might have given us a hint because even though Sanders did not have Usyk's skill, he had quick hands and a huge left. Alas Corrie lost to Rahman which is not Lewis's fault. Lewis is more powerful than Fury and more relentless than Joshua. Once he has you hurt with a big right or a big right uppercut, he will not let you off like Joshua or Fury. So if Usyk walks into a big uppercut carelessly like he did vs Fury, it will be nighty night. Lewis won't let you off at that point. Its a 50-50 fight with me leaning towards Usyk just because he has shown that he can handle big strong heavies while Lewis never had a chance to fight lefties and his defense is questionable. But Lewis absolutely has the power to hurt him and Usyk is open to both the right uppercut and the right hand. So i can't count Lewis out. All in all, Usyk is a great fighter. Not unbeatable like many here are proclaiming but great nonetheless. His consistency is amazing.
Yes i don't disagree with that, at least at heavy. Peak 99 Lewis is miles ahead of 2024 Fury and even 2021 Joshua. But the question mark is Lewis vs lefties since he neither had a great defense, nor an impregnable chin.
Usyk provides nothing that would challenge Lennox. Usyks success against Dubois makes Dubois's chin look like paper not Usyk a threat because Usyk has not been a power threat at the elite level even at CW but Dubois did get flatlined by Joyce. Usyk like Holyfield before him might have really exceptional chin. If the fighter can outbox Usyk thats not going to help him.
