The professionally undefeated southpaw was slated to main event at Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington, PA earlier this evening (7/19) versus Filipino journeyman Jameson Labador "Bring Home Tha" Bacon in a middleweight 8-rounder. Now, granted, it was a busy day in terms of boxing - with Usyk vs. Dubois II, Pacquiao vs. Barrios, and to a lesser extent Rodríguez vs. Cafu all overshadowing any other cards that may have been taking place. But still... It's now past 1am, yet I can't find a result on BoxRec, on Twitter (sorry, X), on search engines ...anywhere. Yeleussinov maybe isn't quite a household name, but he is an Olympic gold medalist - and someone that's supposed to be featured on the undercard of the huge Canelo vs. Crawford event in September on Netflix. You'd think it would be possible to at least ferret out the result of his tune-up, if not pics/vids.
He should fight Barrios it's a easy title win cos let's be real unless some crazy miracle he will of won tonight
That's if he can even make welter comfortably, though. He technically has only done so four times in the pros so far... in now 13 bouts. Having tonight's stay-busy engagement versus Bacon scheduled at middleweight isn't a great sign. (especially since Bacon himself has never fought above 147lbs)
This is true but even a weight drained version would beat Barrios and hopefully would open the door to bigger and better things for him
He needs to hurry up and make a run at making something happen, that's for sure. He's a 34 year old prospect. A big stage like the Canelo-Crawford undercard might land him a big opportunity.
Just watched a clip of the second round on Daniyar's personal IG page story... A bunch of southpaw jab feints by Yeleussinov. Bacon flurry, blocked. Clinch. Diversionary right hook up top by Yeleussinov, then a left uppercut on the body and Bacon collapsed.
