He does. He clearly owns Dubois. Great, conclusive KO win.

But 38-year-olds don't tend to get better at 38.

They either change their styles (like George Foreman) and take a more calculated, deliberate approach, using their "old man strength."

Or, like Bernard Hopkins (who copied the hated but effective John Ruiz style), they slow stuff down as humanly possible so only a handful of punches are landed each round ... in order to keep every round close ... hoping to use their reputations to edge rounds on the cards.

Or they become a PED cheat.

That's the pattern, anyway. Because a veteran athlete's body is never actually better at 38. At least, it's not on its own.

And we all know that ... really.

Excellent KO, though. I enjoyed it.

I think he is adapting his style, probably due to age.

He is setting his feet and punching with his opponents.

Given he has a solid chin, fast hands and very good footwork, for me it makes this version of him the best HW version we have seen.

He had his reads on Dubois super early. He can definitely crack when he needs to, beautiful finish.

And I think Usyk showed us just that, a slight change in style which resulted in heavier punchers, because he now plants his feet more.
Parker, tho a fair bit younger, showed the same in his last fight.

But my personal favorite is Sergio Martinez. At the age of 35 he finally started sitting down on his punches, and went on a bit of a rampage.

He wanted to punish Dubois and his team for their disrespect. Don Charles was extremely disrespectful to Usyk and said some disgusting things about him, including questioning the deeply religious Usyk's faith. Charles' son George Fox was very disrespectful too.

Usyk was angry at Dubois for crashing his post-fight interview after Belly 2 when he was paying tribute to his sons

He said he liked all his British opponents except Dubois. He wouldn't touch gloves with Dubois until the ref forced them to do it.

If you disrespect Usyk you summon Dark Usyk and he has always been able to punch. He stopped all 9 of his pre-title opponents.

He's also fought a bunch of iron-jawed or extremely durable guys

Briedis has never been hurt, let alone knocked down or stopped

Gassiev has never been dropped or stopped

Hunter has never been dropped or stopped

Chisora is super tough and Uysk was 215lbs then and it wa his first real fight at HW

Dropping and stopping a 279lb giant

But most importantly he wanted to punish Dubois just like he did Huck and he really loaded up on that finishing hook and put full power into it. He doesn't do that very often

I think he is adapting his style to fit his aging body and he wanted to punish Dubois for the disrespect.

You can clearly see that he is slowing down, its even noticeable compared to the last Fury fight, his legs are stiffer. As a result he can't use his movement like he used to and instead fights with his feet a bit more planted.

And he is a good enough boxer that he can pull this off and teach Dubois and team a lesson for talking so much smack.

What was his weight in his first hw fight!? He seems to have piled on the pounds and muscle, but it has been over a few years I guess!?

People forget how personal Dubois made it. Interrupting Usyk's heartfelt speech after his last win to get in his face and bark.
