not equivalent but after a couple of hundred amateur fights, you are essentially a pro. There is a reason why Lomachenko challenged for a world title so early in his pro career. Its because he was essentially a pro. I am happy to keep following boxing as i am quite the expert on it.
That you are. Your knowledge is excellent and your lack of bias and stupidity is like a breath of fresh air. Your collection of threads have also been the best in recent times. Keep up the good work mate.
Brother it’s always like this, couple posts ago @dmt was saying Usyks feints wouldn’t work because of Ali’s chin… Seamus you have boxed more then me… am I missing something?
Historic expert maybe? But so far I’m not seeing any reason to think you’re a “boxing expert” we’ve got maybe three of those that post in classic and I don’t think you’re one - respectfully, you’re a pleb like the rest of us comrade.
Well here we go again, I watched Usyk looking better I will say, though it has to be said moreso, Dubois looked quite a bit cautious & gun shy, certainly by the 4th... So, though better to the eyes here, why does all the 'greatest' B.S come into it. Sorry fellas, still not seeing it! Just another very good fighter among 1000's.
Beterbiev beat Usyk in 2007. How many amateur fights did Usyk have by then? Seeing as he didn't hit the radar in Europe till 2006 and accumulated his 300 by 2013 I am willing to guess a couple dozen. And before Doug Jones, Ali had 17 pro fights and 105 amateur fights. Apples and oranges.
Ali, the GOAT, gets his hand raised. It might be competitive for a half. Usyk is carving out a place on the ATG list but people constantly get ahead of their skis with the fresh and the new after the most recent fight. It’s why I personally don’t rank any athlete in any sport as far as their ATG status until they have completely and irrevocably gone to the house for good. IMO it’s the only way to do an unemotional, clear-headed, rational and objective assessment.
Usyk solid UD, Ali makes it interesting with his bag of tricks but Usyk ain't losing to any technician at HW.
