That would make for a very entertaining fight. Either as an undercard or a Sydney main event

yeah he was trending well and looked solid, being put out by Bakram definitely damaged him... not putting the boot in but cant give him a pass for quitting on the stool

Up until he pulled the pin he was showing tremendous heart I think he gave it all he had in that last round he already took one career altering beat down from Bahkram so I guess the experienced gained from that is he can live to fight another day.

Aussies don’t really have a world class boxing scene and their top guys end up being flashes in the pan with glaring imperfections. Too much money for too little talent.

On the other hand, the Pacific Islanders tend to be tough as nails even though their scene is capped so I really don’t think we should be giving passes to the Aussies for getting knocked out and quitting. Tim’s quit job last night will be enshrined like Mundine’s knockout loss to Sven Ottke.

His ring IQ is scarier than swimming with Manute Bol.

Aussie fighters don't duck challengers and go straight into the fire like with Tsyzu fighting Bahkram then Fundora, Kambosos went straight from Lopez to Haney and Mundine fought Ottke in only his 11th fight after a Rugby League career.

Australia has turned out world class contenders in every weight division in the sport from top to bottom in recent years. Also Australia is a Pacific Island.

What countries with populations of 26 million or less are producing more world class fighters across a wider range of weight divisions than Australia?

Australia is a continent, not an island, and it borders the Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean.

All of the supposedly world class fighters are forgettable except for Jai, and his dad raised him with Pacific Islander values.

Puerto Rico actually is an island and produces better fighters even though you could walk the circumference of it.

Australia is an Island (surrounded by sea) and a small continent. It borders the Pacific Ocean.

Puerto Rico doesn't produce world class boxers in every weight division from top to bottom. Never has.

Jai is Australian. Qualified to represent Australia at the 2012 Olympics as a 16 year old.

Do tell us about the Pacific Islanders who aren't Australian who are "as tough as nails"? Will be a short list.

I guess you call Africa an island too. And it’s interesting how you aren’t counting the Philippines and Japan.

Jai, Tua. Parker, Masoe, Thunder, Leapai. All tough as nails. All not Australian. Honorable mention for Meng.

Come on, mate. Keep it real.

The Philippines & Japan have far bigger populations than Australia & they don't produce fighters in every weight division like Australia does. I mean, where are all the Japanese Heavyweight contenders? Oh, that's right. There aren't any.

Jai & Alex Leapai are Australian. Jimmy Thunder (RIP) was a great talent with a dreadful chin. I told you it was going to be a short list.

Maybe you should change your screen name from "NoNeck" to "No Brain"?

Australia is a multi cultural country with plenty of people from Pacific Islander backgrounds born here. What you are saying about Opetaia is like saying an African American is not an American.

He just gets hit too much. He always did. He was a good fighter for a while but now he just can't take punches like before
