Both Shakur and Bam looked very impressive in their last fights. Besides Usyk and Crawford I think Shakur and Bam are the most skilled
    southpaws fighting today.

Between the two who would you say is the more skilled technician in your opinion?

The other 2 don't belong in the same sentence as Uysk

Usyk is clearly beyond Shakur and Bam in terms of pure technical skill but they aren’t too far behind.

Shakur and Bam are pretty close together skill-wise and P4P.

I need to see more from both but I prefer Bam's style. Seems to be defensively responsible while also letting his hands go. Yes Shakur did that last fight but that isn't something he does often.

Shakur doesn't belong in the same sentence as Rodriguez.

Shakur is usually boring and overly-defensive, and feather-fisted. Rodriguez is exciting and a complete fighter - he does everything well.

Bam will be fighting his version of Zepeda in Fernando Martinez. It'll be interesting if he also pulls a Shakur by fighting the other guys fight and still outclassing him.

Shakur fought a Japanese brother and his first port of call when looking for an opponent isn't a graveyard or a care home

Bam-Rod is terrified of stepping up to Japanese level and he has more shot senior citizens on his CV than Father Time

He should be serving time in a Japanese POW camp for elder abuse and shamelessly ducking Japanese brothers

That's nonsense Bam accepted the Nakatani offer but Nakatani declined because he wants to move up for the Inoue fight

How do you compare someone like Usyk to someone about half his weight? It's apples to oranges. I guess you compare how skilled they each are compared to their own competition? By this measure, Usyk clearly has to be the most skilled out there right now.

Between Shakur and Bam, it's another difficult comparison, as they are very different fighters. Bam is very much a pressure fighter, and Shakur is very much a defensive fighter. Shakur's defense and counters are better, no doubt; Bam's offensive prowess, ability to wear guys down into making mistakes, ability to create openings, and ability to cut the ring are better, no doubt. Bam is also clearly a harder puncher p4p.

I could see Bam's aggression getting him into trouble and an upset occurring. On the other hand, if Shakur were struggling with an opponent, he doesn't really have the power and type of offense to turn it around quickly.

Hard to say who is more "skilled". I do think Shakur will have more longevity in the sport. Bam is so reliant on that footwork that when his legs start slowing, his game is going to fall apart. As Floyd showed, a great defensive fighter can keep at a high level for longer.

    They're both exceptional talents.

Shakur is better and already is in his third weightclass.

Shakur is better. Bigger toolkit, more versatile, has honed his craft to a higher level. Bam is a very good fighter in his own right, mind you, but needs to stop feasting on the remnants of the previous generation. The Pumita fight is a step in the right direction.
