If Usyk fighting bigger men is an excuse why couldn't Usyk consistantly stop opponents at CW? Before he reached the title level he had 100% then in his title fights he got one less than half the time.
Because Ali et al had an actual size advantage over their competition most of the time. Usyk did not.
I always thought Ali was underrated when it came to punching power. Look at his KO's of Folley and Bonavena and the right hands that floored Jimmy Ellis and "Blue" Lewis--along with the shots he banged on George Foreman's head throughout the "Rumble in the Jungle." Ali had sneaky power--and he could hurt you!!
Ali didn`t punch that hard, he used to stop opponents with a flurry of shots, the only one punch KO he scored was the messy one vs Liston, Holmes finished Leon Spinks with emphatic style and skill.
He couldn`t even stop Henry Cooper who was tiny compared to Usyk and Holmes, he stopped Cooper on cuts, no way could Cooper take the shot that finished Dubois off on Saturday.
yes and Foreman and Liston were the same size as Ali. And they were stopped. Usyk does not hit as hard as Holmes or Ali.
Nice! So Ali stopped 2 opponents that weighed as much as him. Wanna guess how many such fighters Usyk stopped? Ali does not hit as hard as Usyk. Holmes, maybe, though I also doubt it.
Not 2. Lyle is up there as well. Again you are making the same argument. Size does not equal duralbility or else Joshua would be more durable than Holmes. Which durable opponents has Usyk stopped? None. Not a single one. At either cruiser or heavyweight. So no, Usyk does not hit as hard as Ali or even close for that matter.
Wow, ok, so a single example establishes the case for an entire field of fighters? Amazing logic. You have revolutionized the scientific method!
