I’ve not seen anything from Itauma that suggests he will beat Whyte… Whyte has been in there with some of the best, and has actually proven himself whilst beaten good fighters himself in Parker, Povetkin, Chisora twice. Helenius and Rivas were much better than anyone Itauma has beaten let alone faced??!! Whyte isn’t even that old as well, I don’t think he has taken that much punishment in his career. Who has Itauma faced? Let alone beaten? A retired NFL player that was ranked 100th worldwide? A zombified version of Wach also ranked 100th worldwide? McKean who was at best a good journeyman let’s face it. Whyte is a hugely hugely significant step up from these guys. Where is the proof that Itauma beats Whyte? Has Itauma’s stamina, heart, chin, will, ability to deal with a jab been tested here? I am genuinely quite staggered by the odds of Itauma being 1/12 and Whyte being 8/1 here. Don’t forget Dubois V Joyce. Itauma may well just be a hype job here, and we have seen countless hype jobs in the past. If Itauma wins though - I’ll put my hands up.
Itauma will take Whyte out inside 3 rounds. Way too fast, sharp and powerful for a declining Whyte. You don't think Whyte has taken much punishment in his career? His punch resistance is shot to bits and he's slower than molasses. He's not the guy to test Itauma's heart, stamina or chin. The first solid left hand that lands will leave Whyte on the canvas.
Whyte hasn't taken that much punishment personally, he still has a few more fights in him. Can't forget it wasn't long ago that he was a genuine serious contender. What has Itauma proven?
Whyte looked dreadful against Tetteh, his crudeness will play right into Itauma's hands, I've got Itauma winning but I think Whyte will show that he's not this invincible heir apparent that people seem to think. It's still a huge step up for Moses.
I can definitely see it. I think Itauma wins but we've seen young prospects turn out to be hype jobs against worse fighters than Whyte. That said, Dilians career ended in Eddie's back garden 5 years ago and he never looked the same again. Povetkin took his soul.
He might. Its hard to say how close to the top Whyte is. Hes on a win streak against decent 2nd rate fighters and hes the best fighter Tyson Fury ever beat easily except Wilder(1 out of 3 times). He'll never fight for a belt again but hes not evidently washed. Itaumas being thrown to the wolves. Itauma might desroy Whyte but if he does he'll probably get a title shot or a fight against a truly elite opponent hes not ready for. I feel hes being flown too close to the sun here too quick. Almost everyone whose ranked high is a decade older except Dubois and Jared Anderson.
Whyte didn't look all the good against Tetteh in my opinion. Like he wasn't close to losing or anything like that, don't get me wrong, it's just clear his best days were behind him. I think this will go exactly as planned. ...Then again, Turki has said he has big plans for Itauma, and we know his track record with these things. So I wouldn't be surprised if yet another upset scuttled his plans
Whyte's not getting paid to fight he's getting paid to be on Itauma's knock out reel. Obvious Uppercut that'll land early. do we really expect Whyte to be able to school a fighter? he'll hang on for dear life, probably tire himself out and accept the knockout around round 7 at the very latest.
