At his best he is a level above the likes of Eubank Jnr and Conor Benn. Tim is one of the better sons of a legend in recent times.

What do you base that off?

What is the best win?.. I think Harrison is probably the best fighter he has beat but he was clearly washed when they fought

Tszyu has some good wins but no great wins. Neither Eubank Jnr or Benn have any great wins. Tszyu at least has won a version of a legit world title. To me he looks more skilled than the two of them he is also a bigger puncher and has more of a punch variety than the two of them. Tszyu is a better finisher when he has someone hurt a better body puncher. I don't think either of them do anything better than Tszyu.

He was gifted the legit belt when Charlo dodged him.. and then lost it straight away against Fundora... I guess you can call the Mendoza fight a defense..

Tim’s a very good fighter, of course he is. But he has 3 awful problems and I think it’s too late for him now to sort some of these issues out.

    1) no head movement.

    2) no plan B.

    3) as unprofessional a team around him as I can remember.

They’ll pay him 7 figures at home to fight Zerafa. He should take that fight and then retire.

He’s massively overhyped here in Australia. The publicity he gets is massive purely because of his last name.

Jai Opetaia has won a legitimate world title, is far and away the most talented boxer in Australia and is p4p calibre yet he doesn’t get close to Tim Tszyu’s media coverage. It’s wrong imo.

    For sure.

I’ve long held the view that Opetaia is our best fighter. Opetaia is special in my opinion. A generational talent with the heart, chin, power and work ethic to go with it.

I still think many people are sleeping on him.

Especially in Australia. Only avid followers here know about him. Casuals know nothing of Jai yet he’s brilliant. The best “Australian”fighter I’ve seen since KostyaTszyu…comfortably.

No they didn't. That guy would get little fights on FoxSports that nobody watched the average American had no clue who he was.

To be fair compared to Opetaia a lot of fighters are overrated.

I think Australia can be wuite glad to have tim tszyu. His mentality does you proud and with it he fits into all the other australian warriors. With your fighters I now have Australia in a category with mexico an japan in my mind. I love your fighters.

But what I really love about tszyu is that I can always see him thinking and he makes exactly the adjustments I saw right before. Love how he fights and how you can watch him process what is in front of him. Very focussed on how to adjust. Little 'noise' in his fighting.

I said this in 2021............Tim's prospects vs. Jermell Charlo

2023 someone musing Tim beats a long reigning champion in Sergio Martinez a higher division

2023 someone saying Tim will go down in history as an all time great. And note he didn't even make it to the actual murderers row before he got clipped.

2023 Tim possibly beats Winky Wright

2024 another Tim vs. Sergio Martinez

There are a number of people on here who thought Tim was legit top contender, but there were those who were downright foolish proclaiming him as a future ATG. The answer is he was pretty good.................for a brief period.

And pretty good is very fine. It's always sad when hype-fan-casuals tarnish the reputation of a really likeable and good fighter. Tim Tszyu does not deserve any hate whatsoever.

But I do see your annoyance is directed at those opinions and rightfully so. Though it is important for the sport that casuals come in and inevitably they bring their wishful opinions with them :)
