Nice post, I feel your passion. You should be extremely happy/stoked, like I said, you guys are having success as of late and it is awesome.

Unfortunately, like I mentioned earlier, no one cares about top 20 or prospects. Having a handful of elite fighters matters SO much more. Boxing is super brutal, top 50 in a weightclass means you're basically the top 0.01% in the world due to the huge talent pool, but unless you're top 10 ( a lot of times people dismiss anything outside of the top 5, depending on weightclass) it really doesn't matter.

Besides Kostya and Fenech, no one really stands out as truly world class... yet. Opetaia has an extremely pleasing style and is getting super hype, but HONESTLY I don't think he is special. Punch selection is questionable. That's a different topic though.

South Korea was absolutely world class in the 70s and 80s in the lower weighr divisions both in the amateurs and professionally. This is where my snark remark about SK has an argument that they had better boxers in the 80s than Australia (again, we are going back to the no one cares about top 20 in all weight classes argument)

Not a bum. He just needs to stay away from freaks of nature, guys that know how to box, guys that can counter, feint, good jab, decent power, footwork and of course, fast. He stays away from those type of guys, he'll do fine.

 

You make a good point the guys that beat him in Fundora and Bahkram are freaks of nature. The bad thing for Tim is they may have ruined him and could cause him to lose fights now to opponents he otherwise would have beaten.

 

What kind of bs is that? There has been a boxer of Puerto Rican descent in every boxing division, most hall of famers, you can’t say the say about Australia.

Acknowledged. I think Australian boxing is going better than Puerto Rican currently.

 

Tszyu's corner certainly lacked IQ, in both Fundora fights. They offered him nothing in the way of strategy and fell short in their duty of care for their fighter both times.

 

Although PR does have more champions currently and if you don’t count Shakur Stevenson, I agree but not by much. Jai seems to be the best of the bunch and Paro did beat Matias but after that it’s a severe drop in quality.

 

Good, world class fighter but never was true top level. And that's okay. I like guys who are quality and make entertaining fights, and TT definitely did that.

He's finished as a true contender, tho. They are gonna have to shop him around and let the top guys run a train on him like what has happened to Kambosos.

 

Tim is a legend God bless him.

Tim isn't in the same boat as Kambosos he can make a fortune fighting B level guys in Australia if he wants to.
