Coming up as the reigning champion usually buys you favours straight up but that might be stretching things.
Apparently Chisora is being lined up for Fabio Wardley. Even better. Wardley is yet to win a completed round against an Australian. I don't see that changing if he faces Jai.
Haven't watched Fenech's interview but generally speaking Fox Sports did themselves absolutely no favours by making it a monopoly with one promoter IMO. In the not so recent past I'd argue they've done extremely poorly identifying boxing talent that needs to be regularly featured. Sure, Jai featured on some shows, mostly thanks to being supported by others but the reality is Fox didn't identify him as a talent to get behind and now he's the best fighter in Australia by the length of the Flemington straight and is doing very healthy PPV numbers for a rival company. Yes DAZN have purchased Fox, but they are still very separate entities for now. Who knows when that merger will actually take place, if at all, in terms of it all being incorporated into the one product. Similarly for Tim Tszyu. His early fights were often in regional places and untelevised. His fight against Wade Ryan for instance was on epicentre tv from memory and the card was an absolute belter. By all reports the exclusive deal with No Limits ends at the end of October. It will be very interesting to see what Fox do moving forward.
Jokes aside. Saw Cooper's pro debut and he looked pretty good. Had about 60 amateur fights and that experience shows.
Did you score O'Connell vs Parr? The next opponent is not great... https://boxrec.com/en/event/926494
I thought at the time O'Connell won it. Reckon she has earned an easy fight. Has had some really tough fights. Been in too many wars for her own good.
Dylan Biggs 15-1 will meet Petro Frolov 12-1 in the Quarter Finals of the middleweight WBC Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia.
Michael Zerafa is fighting a yank by the name of Mikey Dahlman on the same card. This has the look of a prelude to Nikita Tszyu fighting Michael Zerafa or perhaps even Zerafa fighting Tim?
Yep Zerafa is definitely being lined up for one of the Tszyu boys. Nikita v Zerafa would be the better fight as I still believe this current version of Tim coming off a bad loss would do a similar job on Zerafa like what he did to Joey Spencer.
I think I'd rather see Tim fight Zerafa. I just have a feeling Zerafa is going to have a bit too much knowhow for Nikita.
