Usyk gets crushed by Lennox just like all the rest of them that are around.

I always fancied Lennox in this bout as long as he is switched on and serious. Joshua and Fury were never near Lennox in my book, with Fury's slickness being applicable against limited sluggers he thrived on (Wilder, post-Povetkin Whyte), and looking iffy otherwise. All fluff and surprisingly little essence on a scale of the century (still consistently a top ten fighter.)

Joshua gets clipped badly even by a pre-Steward Lewis.

Those guys always feel that way when they see the new man. Lewis wants to fight Usyk because he feels challenged in his soul. It's just like Joe Frazier wanted to fight Mike Tyson. The fighter retires, the heart doesn't.

I think Usyk is great, he's one of the few Fighters I root for. I think he is a model champion and a great Sportsman. He would give Lennox Lewis a harder time than anybody else around at the moment, But ultimately still suffers the same fate.

I consider it an ugly projection McGrain. A man who had enough faith and competitive spirit to get to the level Lewis did (reinventing himself on the way) will retain that competitive, hunter-like drive. It's a good thing that likely pushes him forward in an everyday life.

Lennox would have beaten him, I'm sure of it.

I'd have stacked heavily on Lewis, and have been hoping that the hype for Usyk buoyed up a value-for-money bet.

I think he's sick of Usyk beating up all the Brits.

I don't know that Lewis could have beaten Usyk. But I do give him a better chance than anyone from this era.

Grim Reaper must hate having to come for former fighters. Gets cracked in the jaw a lot before completing the reaping.

Lewis can always train for a comeback. Maybe he gets in shape and fights Usyk around Christmas

He does live in Usyk's time. Is Lennox Lewis not living right now?

In 1965 I'm sure Dempsey thought to himself "if I were a fighter today, I'd whip that Clay fellow". And in the 80s he probably thought the same about Larry Holmes

He realistically said it... that he would beat Clay even at 60.
Which great boxer in top form did Lewis fight?
When Tyson was in top form, he didn't fight him. When Bowe was in top form, he didn't fight him. When Holyfield was in top form, he didn't fight him... he also didn't fight Byrd, Ruiz, Moorer, Sanders, Wlad, and he didn't give Mercer and Vitali a rematch. Do we really believe he would have sought to fight someone like Usyk when he gave the belt to Byrd? Maybe in five years... or maybe he would have fought Usyk when he defeated Chisora, but he wouldn't fight him now. When did Lewis take the risk?

I wish Lennox accepted the same money/offer from Bowe's team as Bowe did when Bowe fought Holyfield.
