They'd struggle for sure. Many are so overweight, fighting every three months would do them good.

In theory, you'd expect it to be better for them but, by the same token, continual injuries would be more prevalent, I suspect. Either way, I think we'd see a variation in the level of performance from championship fighters competing more than twice and up to five times a year.

I totally agree. Mind you if they did a lot more sparring and fighting they might develop into better fighters, decent technicians. Usyk is miles ahead of the current pack in that respect, an anomaly.

Usyk had like 350 amateur fights. He did handle such a schedule when he was young. And he fought once a month in WSB, 5 round bouts under pro rules. And he was what 28-29 then?

I don't consider an Am record comparable to a Professional World Championship schedule, to be honest.

That is certainly a valid way of looking at it. I weigh styles heavily, and Usyk's style is not similar to Ray Mercer's or Evander Holyfield's. However, I do see similarities in Tyson Fury's style and Lennox Lewis's style, both leaning into the Boxer-Puncher style, even though Lennox hit harder, in my opinion. Respect for your opinion, right backatcha!

Lewis knows a duck when he sees one.
Because there's nothing special about Usyk other than how bad his competition is.

Being undisputed in two different divisions and beating the best fighters in both is apparently nothing special anyone can do it.

The best fighters AVAILABLE. Which isn't that impressive in this weak era.
Sorry but not to share that fact with you.
It's on the same level some of you were swearing how Lomo would've beaten the best lightweights in history, because he won a few fights in a row against sub par competition.
But when he began to lose a few, reality set in.
Usuk is Lomo, just at heavyweight, and unfortunately, he may never fight above average competition as Lomo eventually faced because heavyweight boxing is historically bad.
Thus for Fanboys like you , makes him the greatest fighter to ever live in the rich history of boxing.
Which tells me exactly where you are in the very rich history of boxing history, a novice level.

The Lomachenko comparison is ridiculous. Loma lost when it mattered most, Usyk won and wasn't just undisputed in one division he did it in two.

Crying "weak era" is the oldest excuse in the book when a modern fighter builds a historic resume. Usyk beat the best fighters of generation in two different divisions, beating fighters who were bigger then him in every fight at HW. If you can't see what an incredible achievement that is, then you're the only one lacking knowledge here.

Stop pretending you're some boxing historian. You're just another old head repeating tired diatribes about how much better the past was while ignoring the greatness right in front of you.

So I've thought that this era in general was kind of soft, but with a crust of hard fighters at the top. Flash's criticism might hold water if Usyk had fought filler all the way, but he's been fighting and beating 'the guys that beat the guys'. The only soft HW fighter Usyk fought was Chazz, and he isn't even that soft.
