If he took the fight you would say Kabayel took an easy payday against grandpa Klitschko instead of fighting fellow contenders
He is not fighting for undisputed anytime soon. He could of made a career high payday against a 49 year old. Sounds like he wasn’t all that confident.
Turki must believe he needs at least one Brit fighter to make it worthwhile for the attention and $$$$$'s A Kiwi and a Ukrainian may not get the eyeballs required
I just don't get why they can't stick a good British dust-up on the undercard to help it sell in Britain. How about Usyk-Parker with Wardley-Chisora supporting, and have the rest of the undercard be very young guys you don't have to pay anything for? But that's just me.
I thought I read that Wladimir offered to fight Kabayel but Kabayel turned it down. So who is Wlad fighting instead?
Or he just had the self-awareness to know that beating up a nearly 50 year old man who has been out of the ring for 8 years would not be a good look.
Parker isn't a pressure fighter who can attempt to use constant and methodical pressure like Kabayel to try and slow Usyk down and have somewhat of a chance of getting him out of his rhythm. People talk about Parker's ''speed'' and ''boxing skills'' but neither of those were enough to outpoint Dillan Whyte or be dominant against Jack Massey so we all know how this goes and it's a brave Joe Parker getting well and truly beat up.
Parker has a tricky pressure to his game these days where he is constantly in an opponents face but doesn't leave many openings that it nullifies their offense. And it lets him set the pace of the fight, though I don't think that will work with Usyk. Also I don't understand why people find it so hard to understand that Parker may have improved over time. Not just his S&C, which is night and day, but he has really rounded out his skill set as well.
