Agree with everyone about Spinks and Holmes, they are the two best wins as I think very highly of Holmes' ability even at that time. The Larry Holmes that fought Tyson would wipe out every heavyweight today and be the champ into his late 40s or early fifties LOL. In fact, Spinks, Tucker , Biggs , Dokes, mas, Witherspoon , Okay miserable old man rant over.

Larry Holmes was his best opponent win. Michael Spinks was his most spectacular win.

Eh? You think Holmes that fought Tyson was better than Spinks that fought Tyson? We are not talking about the Holmes that fought Cooney here.

I think Holmes is the better KO scalp on Tyson's record, but I will not argue with people, who think the Spinks scalp was better. It is very close.

Golota wasn't even in Tyson's top 10 scalps.

    Berbick, Smith or Tucker
All coming off very good (career best) wins recently when they fought Mike Tyson.

Fair point. Golota misunderstood and Jekyll and Hyde personified. I've given up trying to argue how good this man would have been with say just the boxing IQ he showed In his best moments without the foul nature and kamikaze ring instabilities.

Tysons win was his best post Miss Washington. Golota on his day was formidable.Sadly he scarcely had a day without the foul unstable persona...where he is liable to quit or throw away a fight after winning every round with 1 or 2 left.

The Lewis and Brewster losses undermine me Im aware....the former I could argue was the unstable ring mind....the latter Im not sure.

They were title holders at one point and I would favor them against Spinks H2H, so yeah, probably.

Tyson's wins, it has to be said, are extremely weak. When someone put it on him he never, ever looked good. Always went the distance or got battered.

He beat all of the top fighters from the second part of the 80's. How's that weak?

Peter McNeeley said he came to fight. And he obviously did.

Its easy to remember that many people thought Spinks could win, including myself. in a weird way, i saw tyson as invincible up until that point but at the same time thought Spinks could be the one to do it.

Bare with me. I was 15 lol.
