If we are going by punch stats give Fury round 3 as well. Usyk won round 8, it wasn’t until round 9 that Fury seemed like he was gonna lose. And even if it wasnt, you are literally arguing 1 round less than my initial claim, so it doesnt even matter that much.

Round 3 could have gone either way, I agree. Your original claim was that the first fight with Fury (up until 9th round) was the first heavyweight fight where Usyk was looking like he was about to lose. That's not true. After 8 rounds Fury was either up 5-3 or there was a draw 4-4. He didn't win a round after that. In the Joshua rematch after 9 rounds it was either 5-4 Usyk or 5-4 AJ. And AJ had a great 9th round where some poeple thought he may actually have Usyk this time. But Usyk, as always, switched to his usual higher gear and schooled him for the remainder of the bout. Just like with Fury. We can't forget Usyk always turns it up a notch in the second half of the fight and that's exactly what he did against Tyson.

....So he was winning on the cards until round 9?
I don't think it's the same thing. I had Usyk slightly but visibly ahead of AJ after 9 rounds and I never got the feeling that Usyk might actually lose. He was in control and fine even in the rounds he lost. Against Fury it was different. In the rounds he lost, Usyk geniunely looked hurt, frustrated and more confused than Ive ever seen him be at HW. AJ II was a toe to toe match where Usyk was always a small step ahead. But Fury was geniunely leading the match at some point.

Fury was in shocking shape for the 2nd fight, embarrassing coming in in such a state for a world title fight. I'm sure that factored in to his performance.

And his "nutritionist" Greg Marriott, who I find hard to take seriously, bigged up the preparation for the second one saying he was in better shape etc. and then months later said he was in 60% shape. The fact is Fury doesn't live like an athlete. He might have quite good stamina but I don't think it's anything impressive. Blokes in gyms throughout the country who are eighteen stone part-time rugby players have better fitness than Fury for sure.

I am objective and I scored 7 rounds for Fury as did one of the judges. A few other people also thought Fury nicked it. As I have said previously, I can see people giving it to Usyk. It was a very close fight with several rounds being hard to give a clear winner.

I can only wonder how much better Fury would be if had more discipline.

I think he intentionally came in heavier to bully Usyk, but someone should have told him that being heavy means nothing unless its functional.

Which 7 did you give him out of interest? I know it's subjective to a degree but I find that bonkers personally and don't see any way he won 7 rounds.

    8-4 or 7-5 for me.

Yeah and I thought Fury just looked like a sparring partner in there to me. He just never went for it. Looked like he was just happy the rounds were over. Did the same thing every single round and was fine with that despite clearly needing to make a move or just push Usyk in some way. Nope. Just round in and round out in the same gear. No extra effort. Honestly no real will to win either.

    I gave Fury 2,3,4,5,6,7,12
Fury clearly won the last round which no one seems to have mentioned. Worth noting that every judge scored the 12th for Fury also.

No way he won the 2nd. The rest can at least be argued if you're being super generous towards Fury which you seem to be.

Thanks mate but I just don't see that he won 6 rounds in a row, definitely not the 2nd. I certainly don't think 12 was clear either but one of the close ones.

Been a while since I watched it but for me:

    Clear Fury rounds - 4,5,6
    Clear Usyk rounds - 1,2,8,9,10,11
    Close rounds - 3,7,12

So from my perspective even if you gave Fury every close round he'd still lose due to the KD. And in my view you'd have to be mighty generous to give him every close round.

2 of the 3 judges gave the 2nd to Fury. A lot of the rounds were very close and subjective.
