This would be a Great Fight, who would be your pick and the reason. For the Lightweight Championship of all time. Will it go the distance?

    Hi Ron.
Thinking my pick will not surprise anyone, and would imagine the consensus would be 100% across the forum, so yes Leonard would be have the better of Ross, Benny either 1/2 of all time, Ross 5/6 maybe, would be a fight for the purist, two excellent boxers, both with great chins, very high skill sets, and with not a lot of weaknesses, is Leonards case possible none ? forced to predict the outcome, will go for Leonard on points whatever the distance.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.

My heart says Leonard, my head says Ross. I guess the correct answer is Jimmy McLarnin who beat them both.

I agree with you 100% , Leonard is way above Ross in class and has a better punch. Take care Pal.

    Leonard marginal favourite at LW.

Its probably a situation where Ross idolized Leonard. Learned a great deal from him. Benny set a standard for a whole generation of boxers. Willie Pep would go on to do the same thing in his generation.

Ray Arcel told a story about Ross who he trained winning a big fight against Ceferino Garcia basically with one hand. He had injured his right so all he did was feint the right and pop the jab for 15 rounds. Arcel thought it a Benny like performance.
