I agree, but I would add that it’s a bigger issue with young American boxers specifically (no, not just black ones). We’re not seeing this out of Ukrainian or Japanese boxers for example.

And it’s widespread enough that I can’t put 100% of the blame on the fighters. There’s this whole infrastructure in place designed to make as much money out of them while taking as few risks as possible. So of course they’re all going to end up like this if everyone in their life from their trainer to their promoter to their ****ing dad is telling them this how it’s supposed to be.

It's good that he's encouraging young man to prioritize their health, have better defense, and to not allow promoters to take advantage of them.

However, he also encourages cherry picking to protect the "0". It's done irreparable damage and caused so many mega fights to fall apart (Thurman vs Spence, Joshua vs Wilder, and now Davis and his generation).

Devin did fight ryan last year thats a NC now because Ryan cheated but it happened but I get what you mean, it only happened that one time and even that officially didn't happen due to cheating.
