A very underrated guy, in my opinion. Did it all as a natural super-middle.

    Vitaly Klitschko
    David Tua
Evander Holyfield (in context, # three for me)
    Jameel McCline
    Fres Oquendo
    Davarryl Williamson
    Bert Cooper
    Jimmy Thunder
    Phil Jackson
    Ross Purity

    Some other notables...
    Lionel Butler
    Elieser Castillo
    Arthur Williams
    Jose Ribalta

Byrd actually said he usually weighed about 10lbs less than what the scales read… tiny guy, literally the only blown up middleweight to ever fight at the true HW division properly. Toney was no middleweight here they are chatting… he actually said he had a glass chin.

Really solid resume I think you listed the proper 10. You can see why some Heavyweights would avoid him.

Anyone think Byrd has a case for the HOF?

I think he has case, for me he’s borderline and I would probably say no. It’s very hard for guys to gain admittance when they fought in the era of a truly dominant champ. Guys like Louis, Holmes and Wlad many of their contemporaries don’t make it.
However many people, not myself, believe Wilder may gain entry and I’ll say this any voter worth his salt has to put someone like Byrd in first before they ever cast a vote Wilder’s way. Byrd fought all comers and has a real good (not great) resume. Far better than Wilders.

He would give Usyk kittens, and I don't say that lightly.

    ATG for me.

Jones started at middle, and won titles up to and including ONE fight at heavy. He is acknowledged as ATG.

Byrd started at super middle, jumped immediately and fought most of his carreer at heavy, being a successful champion. A much, much hard career path and bigger accomplishment, if we are honest.

I'll defend it to the death.

    3. Evander Holyfield

    5. DaVarryl Williamson
    6. Fres Oquendo
    7. Arthur Williams
    8. Phil Jackson
    9. Eliecer Castillo
    10. Ross Puritty

I rate Oquendo lower than Williamson because that decision was highly controversial.

I think Williams deserves a shout for being a former Cruiserweight champion.

Puritty had lost his last two fights but went on to beat Wladimir after losing to Byrd so he deserves a mention.
