Why the hate for Tony Galento????

Haha! I’m not sure he actually ate that 53rd hot dog though, Mike…apparently he was watching his weight!

 

Hate? Why hate Tony? Who else ya gonna call when you need two tons of ice on Sunday morning?

 

I remember the day when the hate was saved for that Primo guy...

 

Fake Two Ton admiration threads will never go out of style.

 

Jealousy, they wish they had Galento’s physique but know they don’t have the discipline to get that far.

 

Simple answer is Tua was a better fighter than Galento, skill wise, as well as being bigger and more powerful.

• Achievements: Best remembered for briefly flooring Joe Louis before getting systematically destroyed. No titles. No significant ranked wins on the level of a Rahman, Ruiz, or Moorer.
  
  
• Limitations: Wild, fouling, short, slow, and technically primitive even for his era.

Conclusion

There’s no credible comparison.

• Tua was a world-class modern heavyweight, a legitimate top-5 contender in one of the most competitive heavyweight eras post-Ali.
  
  
• Galento was a tough, charismatic brawler who capitalized on a thinner era and made headlines because of his outrageous personality and one night of guts.
  

In any objective analysis — athleticism, achievements, quality of opposition, conditioning, skill — Tua is on a completely different level.
Calling them “identical except for speed, opposition, conditioning, and achievements” is biting sarcasm, and well earned.

I'm sure you believe that as much as you believe Galento was on par with Tua ..
