You'd assume Haye would win, but then again you'll never know because Haye had quite a few scares at CW against softer opposition as Bomber Belly.
A prime Haye at CW would have stopped a prime Bellew, and it would have looked like the Adonis Stevenson fight for Bellew. Bellew would not have been able to get near a prime Haye in the same way he could not get near Stevenson.
Bellew would have weathered the storm and stopped Haye just like Carl Thompson did. Have always caved when it got tough and always relied on getting his punch in first. When that didn't happen he either folded or was too scared of getting countered hence all his boring fights at heavyweight.
I go with the tide....probably Haye but I wouldn't count Bellew out. Hard to say given that Haye's big right hand and ability to deliver it with speed and accuracy was such a plus and his chin and stamina were such a minus.
''Haye always caved when it got tough'' the Mormeck and Fragomeni fights both prove that this statement is factually incorrect.
Yes, plus Haye’s fight with Chisora was everything but boring. Prime Haye is a lot better than ppl give him credit for.

lol haye would of killed him bellew has always had a shaky chin dropped against anyone with any type of power stevenson makabu mckenzie had him on skates, ive never seen a fighter become so highly rated like bellew the real golden child of the eddie hearn machine
It was a gasser of a fight. After visiting this thread, I watched the highlights of a few of his fights last night.
The problem with Bellew at 175 was that he was killing himself to make weight and he didn't have sustained energy for many of his fights at light heavyweight. He said he was eating ice cubes when he tried to make 175.
Haye is a good fighter in his prime, but he's an athletic fighter in the mode of Roy Jones and Gamboa. Really fast and explosive, but lacking in fundamentals. He loves to fight with his hands down and once his reflexes went, so did his defense. These types of fighters are prone to getting caught, though Jones got away with it for a long time due to his inhuman reflexes. I think Haye would have beaten Bellew in his prime, but you can never count Bellew out because Bellew did knocked Haye out twice. But it could be a similar situation to Jones/Hopkins. Jones beat Hopkins during his prime due to his better athleticism, but Hopkins schooled Jones when he was on the slide due to Hopkins' stronger fundamentals.
I favor Haye 70/30 Bellew is a wanka but you can never count him out he was a pretty good fighter and had a lot of heart.
