wow so angry clearly you are young unable to control your emotions JCC - is a great fighter no denying it but i feel like he is tad overrated beat bunch of bums had good wins over a few fighters but lost to majority of the better ones and your last part is pure nonsense majority of fighters get called out for stay busy fights especially the best e.g. canelo v yildrim - fury v chisora etc
Whilst it is indeed true that the records of fighters from previous eras who had 100-300 + fights are heavily padded with an awful lot of cobblers, lumberjacks, railroad inspectors, farmhands, coal miners, and crab fishermen with terrible records and rank novices with losing or decidedly unimpressive records, and even worse many were even vagrants and winos who were literally dragged in off the street, JCC Sr. was an amazing fighter and he's one of the greatest to ever do it
This. His padded record is padded, but he was an incredible atg fighter. Boths are true. Most (if not all) old timers records are ridiculously padded, and it cannot be otherwise since they fought 12 times a year. JCC is not actually an old timer, but his career undoubtfully was an old-timer-ish career (115 fights, props to him for that, btw). The only thing you can argue about JCC is his largest winning streak record if you want to (because of the padding), and honestly I dont thing anyone gives a **** about this record anyway. Calling him taxi driver assassin is funny though, especially to taunt his fans.
Yes, he had 115 fights but 37 of them were world title fights (most of all time) Winning 31 of them (most of all time) He won 27 of them in a row (joint most of all time) And is #3 all time for most title fights won via KO (21) Legendary fighter Yes This content is protected
Yes, it is and his joint record breaking 27 consecutive title wins in a row >> the 27 consecutive title wins in a row of the fighter he shares that distinction with The other being Omar Narvaez and I was just trying to find out if he actually did do so 27 times consecutively without draws
See comments like this is why I started this thread your talking about his record as being a measure of his greatness yet look the defences he beat meldrick taylor his next fight was against a fighter who didn't even have 10 fights how great can you truly be a atg fighting inferior opponents 75% of the time I'd like to hear your take on fighters that get hate on hear canelo Mayweather aj to name a few
Fighters today get criticised for fighting inferior opposition as they only fight 1-2 times a year. If you fight once every 6 months, you really should be testing yourself against the very best as you have had plenty of time to rest and recover. During Chavez's peak years, he was fighting 5 times a year. If you are fighting this regularly whilst still taking on your greatest rivals, then it's more forgivable to have multiple poor opponents. Even just from a purely numbers point of view, if you fight 5 times a year you'll quickly run out of quality opponents.
Chavez was fighting a lot though in his prime and build up years. He was immensely skilled, just watch his fights ffs ♀️ Taylor and Rosario were his best wins. Yes he was that good in his prime. A knock was he never crossed paths with Whitaker, at the lower weights but he got schooled anyways when they met. Whitaker was just that good though and was doing that to everyone.
Others have already explained this He holds the record for having fought in the most world title fights at 31 so even if there is a lot of padding there's also a lot of substance To name a handful: Edwin Rosario, Hector Camacho, Meldrick Taylor, Jose Luis Ramirez, Roger Mayweather, Juan LaPorte, Rocky Lockridge, Juan LaPorte, Ruben Castillo, Mario Martinez. He fought a lot of other good fighters too What do you mean what do I think of Floyd, Clenelo and AJ? None of them feature in my official P4P most handsome boxers top 10 if that's what you're alluding too FTR, neither does JCC Sr. either
