Yes it’s pretty specific but I mean have a gander… AJ, AJ, DDD, Fury, Fury, DDD at the time these guys were at one point either the number 1 HW (Fury) number 2 HW (AJ) or the outstanding challenger… that’s a very strong H2H 6 fight streak - anyone come close / exceed it? I’m not even a big Usyk fan, I think he’s a tap tap Olympian but @NoNeck forced me to consider it especially when you consider H2H.

A fair criticism. Do you have a better 6 fight streak?

I think the closest is Ali with the following:
    Frazier
    Foreman
    Wepner
    Lyle
    Bugner
    Frazier

But it’s worse and Wepner was garbage.

Yeah this is a good one. Liston's run on his way to the title comes to mind for me too, seeing as he's the only man in history to clear out the entire top 10 on his way to the crown --
    Folley / Machen / King / Westphal / Patterson x2

Holmes had two good stretches to look at during his reign in the 80s,
    Spinks / Snipes / Cooney / Cobb / Rodriguez / Witherspoon
    and
    Witherspoon / Frank / Frazier / Smith / Bey / Williams

Honestly I'd argue that Lennox Lewis' run from '95-'98 of Morrison-Mercer-McCall-Akinwande-Golota-Briggs should have some consideration too.

    Mike Tyson:

    - Thomas
    - Tucker
    - Biggs
    - Holmes
    - Tubbs
    - Spinks

Liston didn’t clean out the division. Most notably, he missed Ingo.

Everything listed is levels worse than Usyk and Ali.

Fury is better than all of them and Spinks is the only one with a case for being on Joshua’s level.

I don’t know. There was a lot more variety to Tysons list and he beat some of them more emphatically. Holmes was washed up and inactive so we can scratch that one. But Spinks was the undefeated linear champion. Tucker was 35-0 had just beaten Douglas and was a super heavy in his prime. Biggs was undefeated, an Olympic gold medalist and managed by the Duvas. Thomas had never been stopped and was only beaten once. Ditto Tony Tubbs. I give Usyk’s streak credit due to his age and rising up in weight . But Fury and Joshua weren’t what they were a few years earlier and Dubois was never very good.

6 is a very specific number.

The answer is, probably yes. Most other champs would take at least 1 or 2 fights vs lesser opponents to keep themselves active while Usyk only goes for important fights.

That being said, this is vs 3 guys. So the variety is a bit lacking, but sure, i am willing to call it the best 6 fight win streak.

Fury and Joshua weren’t washed up. Joshua may have been at his best for the first Usyk fight. And Fury missing half a step is still easily better than anyone Tyson beat.

Even Dubois is favorable to Biggs and probably Tubbs and I’ve very openly rated Tyson higher than most people.

Actually a very good choice, I don’t think it’s overly better because remember H2H is important here.
