Looks like O'Halloran did better in this one than he did a few months earlier against Florida Al Jones, a 6-6 southpaw. Jones stopped O'Halloran in 3, then a few months after the Foreman fight Mac Foster knocked out O'Halloran in 1.

You mentioned O'Halloran man handled Foreman physically. JO would be small among today's heavyweights as he only weighed 235. Look at prospect Itauma who is around 6-5, 250, looks to be as quick as anybody, and has shown one punch knockout power. Even if he proves to be a bust in this environment, he is in another league compared to an unskilled football player turned boxer like O'Halloran. Itauma is unproven right now against other big strong fighters, but can you imagine what a guy that big and that fast would do in the 60s-70s? The physicality of boxers is completely different now.

Can you imagine Foreman trying to muscle around Fury? - how about AJ? It’s silly talk, Lennox Lewis would break his soul in the clinch and uppercut his head off into the crowd. It’s just annoying to hear the 215lbs “fluffy” looking guy being touted as the strongest man in boxing history lol.

Lol Itauma is 6'2 1/2" at most. No idea why they ever tried to sell him as a 6'5" giant.

Just imagine the hammering a little 6'3" 220 pound guy would receive in the current :lol:limate. He'd have no chance of success.

    Oh wait

    He’d literally just turned 21.

I like reading your posts man but your stance on all things Foreman borders on weird to be honest. O’Halloran wasn’t by any means a great heavyweight but he was in his absolute prime against Foreman. He was also a big, strong lump of a man who was not easy to move off his axis.

Bear in mind this guy went the distance with Roman, Bugner, Williams and Norton (in fairness and for balance he got KO’d by a few more questionable names) He wasn’t a mug.

I repeat, George had just turned 21, many years short of any human male’s peak strength and power. A KO5 is a perfectly fine result and by no means damages his well deserved reputation as one of, if not the most physically powerful heavyweight to ever lace a glove.

That’s weird almost like height and weight aren’t really that great of an advantage

    Priceless.

And heavyweights from the 70’s couldn’t compete in the modern PED era except for Foreman and Holmes but they were better in the 90’s in their mid 40’s than their crappy 70’s iterations.

Itauma would be prey for the likes of Frazier, Foreman and Ali.

 Spot on. There’s a real “Having your cake and eating it too” vibe about the “logic” you just described that some people indulge themselves in applying.
