Why didn’t they think of this? It would have been brilliant.

Take Toney to some remote mountain training camp, promise him a fully stocked fridge … and hire Riddick as a camp aide whose only job is to have a king-sized bed set up right in front of the fridge — to get to it, Toney had to go through Bowe.

James would have come in at 147!

No, James always believed he could beat everybody. He was one of the most confident fighter ever. Guy came in at a fat 240 against Rahman cause he believed he could not win? this is ridiculous. he just did not have the discipline.

    - Jones way too fast for Toney to catch him with counters
-Toney low punch volume even at his best

Toney had trouble making weight and wasn't always the most dedicated fighter which ended up being disastrous for him in the process. RJJ was always going to be an awful style no matter how in shape Toney was. The combination of RJJ's quickness, footwork, unconventional style, reflex, and boxing IQ was too much of an obstacle for even a gifted fighter like Toney to overcome.

does not even pass the eye test. Toney looked much different physically in the ring against Jones than he did against Barkely or even Prince Williams

GGG lost the rematch, and neither him nor Canelo are losing to those guys nor to Toney himself. Toney ain't that guy pal.

    1) Toney was badly weight drained.
    2) Roy was quite a bit better than Toney.

Im frequently appalled at how many idiots in the UK think Joe Calzaghe
' always had Roy Jones jnr's number'.
It would have been a shutout anytime up to 2003 imo.Calzaghe wouldn't win a round imo.

Roy made a decent world champion in Clinton Woods look like a novice.

This being true kind of raises a question, how did a walking weight drained corpse manage to go the distance with Roy? Been a long time since I watched that fight but I don't recall Roy ever trying to seriously end that fight.

+1. Evaluating athletes in the twilight or end of their careers is an awful way to judge them.

You should get actual arguments rather than following consensus opinions.

Because Roy was that good and Toney had 0 answers for that type of speed and power.
