Whilst an unimpressive display from Parker, it was nowhere near life and death now was it
    He won by some distance

The two knockdowns made it significantly closer on the cards than it really was. Also, I remember that he was winning one of the rounds for sure before getting knocked down. Not that I am ever going to re-watch that fight.

He's one dimensional in a sense - he either wins by KO or he struggles like mad on the cards (hence drawing with Jerry Forrest and losing to Hrgovic who is also awful on cards).

He's good, just has very clear limitations... And a quite thin resume with a mix of wins and losses as you expect from someone with an obvious flaw.

But he is still a good addition to the division, as even at 42 he is still a top 20 guy. Most of the top 10 will likely beat him, but guys ranked lower will not.
Heck, Ring has Bakole, Ajagba, and Hrgovic ranked in their top 10 - I think Zhang probably could beat at least one of them if he fought them back to back.

    The 3 fight run isn’t that impressive;

    Zhang - Knocked down twice
Wilder - Absolutely washed or never any good.
Bakole - 2 days notice while Parker had a full camp.

Agree with this. Parker has been looking great lately and I think he has an excellent chance of being the top dog.

Unimpressive kinda sums up Parker's entire career, don't it? Joe had what, 30+ pounds on Massey? The same Massey who Opetaia wrecked in six rounds with no weight advantage.

If you gotta go all struggle bear mode with Massey and you get yourself knocked down as much as Tyson Fury, yeah, it ain't hard to understand why Turki wants nothing to do with you fighting Usyk.

I dont get why Usyk doesnt just retire and walk out on top

Not like the public is greatly clamoring for a Parker or Kabayel fight

Hes not moving up on pretty much any all time list by beating Parker or Kabayel

For most people you have him where you have him and thats it

    Theres nothing left to prove

Sure - he's a massive chin check, and enough heavies are just too crude and too fat to turn up fit and intending to fight for points.

I don't know whether Ajagba could run for 10/12 against Zhang - maybe, but it only takes one punch... Bakole likewise would end up having to trade and I don't think he'd be last man standing.
Then you have Hrgovic who does actually appear to have the necessary chin to win - but also has an awful gas tank and only won narrowly last time... I'm confident Hrgovic couldn't stop Zhang - so it comes down to what they're both terrible at: points.

The fact guys as limited as these are even arguably top ten just shows the lack of depth in the division at the moment - and because the top guys are largely locked together, the guys below are suffocating for lack of opportunities to fight and learn against guys who have done a lot more.

I disagree Joey it would be another top contender on his resume and it would be another world title win.

I have Usyk just outside my top 10 if he beats Parker he sneaks inside my top 10.
