I know everyone is going to say they don't care...I don't give a damn what Fury does at this point for his own sake, but if he stays retired, we are more likely to get Usyk-Parker...

    I hope so.

He wasted all of 2023. Usyk Fury 1 should have happened by March of 2023 and the rematch should have happened by November/December 2023.

Then we could have actually seen Usyk defending vs Parker, Kabayel etc.

Fury has held up the division for way way too long.

He does not want to challenge himself. He does not want to risk losing to Parker or Kabayel. When Zhang beat Joyce and before he fought Parker, i doubt Fury would have accepted a fight with the dangerous Zhang.

He likes playing the safest possible road. He wants a third Usyk fight. If he loses, he will claim he was robbed again. If he loses to someone other than Usyk, he can't even be regarded as the second best of his era.

A talented fighter who wasted his talent. I hope he retires so we can all move on. The division has already lost 12-18 months of great fights because of his greed in fighting Nnganou and refusal to fight Usyk until he was forced.

    Let's move on.

He last fought in December of 2024 which is only 9 months ago.

He did already have a 2 and a half year career break so 9 months is nothing to him.

He has also said he has retired for good about 7 times now.

Once he is out the ring for 3 years having not fought then I will believe he has retired. Until then talk of retirement to me is just him attention seeking.

With 3 interim champs and a 4th mandatory a trilogy with Fury shouldn't even be on the table. Fury hasn't even had a rebound win.

Hopefully not, regardless of what you feel about the guy he’s still one of the most talented super heavyweights of all time. I’d like to see him against Parker, Kabayel, Dubois, AJ. Still plenty of fun fights to have with Fury the only problem is that we don’t have the time he’s willing to waste in order to make them.

I genuinely think Fury is staying retired and will only come back for exhibitions in the future.

He just likes the idea of coming back and floats it every now and then but isn't actually going to come back.

I think you have to see it from his point of view.
Sure there are plenty of interesting fights we could see him in.
But none of them do anything for his standing or reputation now and can only hurt him if he takes losses.
The only meaningful fight now is Usyk.
Dubious just got KO'd by Usyk again. AJ got KO'd by Dubious and beaten by Usyk.
If he beats Dubious/AJ, nobody really cares these days. If he loses he becomes a bad fighter.
The era has basically come to an end and nothing is worth much now.
If Dubious had beaten Usyk there is a good chance he'd have wanted that fight, but now, why? Just for fun and money but no championship?

I think he's waiting for Usyk to get older. Then he'll challenge Usyk.

I'm surprised and disappointed that he's not been tempted by the AJ fight.

Fury's safest fight for now, especially mentally, would be Dubois. He should target him.

The thing is that Fury actually looked damn good his last two times out. Issue was he was in there with an ATG. Either of those nights, he’d have beaten any other currently active HW. It’s not like he’s washed up.

if Usyk were to today announce he’s retiring, Fury could absolutely campaign successfully for a belt. Hell, if Usyk gets stripped of a belt, Fury could win it off whoever gets it.

He’s being a troll, but notice that he’s staying in shape. Whatever he says, he’s keeping options open.

I think he’d beat AJ and Dubois.
