    I never saw a thread on this matchup. Could Rocky deck Chuvalo who was never on the canvas?

    I vote for a Rocky Marciano decision win over a still standing George Chuvalo.

    Marciano stops Chuvalo on his feet after grinding him down, I don’t rule out Chuvalo lasting the distance though.

    Itd probably look a lot like the Fazier stoppage.

    Chuvalo goes the distance but loses the decision,if a punchless Lastarza could go 11 rds with Rocky ,Chuvalo would have no problem doing so.imo.

    Frazier was a lot more intense than the methodical Marciano.
    For what it's worth;

    Chuvalo later said his right eye was injured when he fought Archie Ray on June 22, 1967. Chuvalo said Ray's head accidentally collided into his cheek bone. "My eye was swelling up, and I went back into the gym and started sparring too soon, and my eye kept blowing up in the gym," Chuvalo explained. "So when I fought Joe, I was damaged goods."

    I would favor Chuvalo, possibly by stoppage.

    This would be a terribly rough fight for Rocky

    Marciano either stops Chuvalo early on sheer punishment ala Frazier, or Chuvalo gets stopped late from having a deformed face. Either way, clear victory for the Rock in an awesome but one sided fight.

    Yeah but Id still favor Marciano to grind him down.

    If he didn't have a "damaged goods" stamp on his forehead, it doesn't count.

    So you'll pick Marciano to beat Chuvalo but not to beat Mike Tyson???

    Great fight. It might go the distance but depending on how much punishment Chuvalo takes it may get stopped in the late rounds. Meanwhile George would be fighting back and had a pretty decent punch himself. The entire bout would be fought almost exclusively in the inside. Crowd would get its money’s worth.

    LaStarza had the feet to move and stay away for a while. Also, many guys have gone long or gone the distance with guys with average or weak chins, but stopped other guys with solid chins.
