Porter won 3 rounds tops. I can't take your post serious. U got some serious issue with crawford if you really believe the porter fights was even close. Did he **** your wife. Slap your face when you walked in on them or something? Also, porter came into the ring in "war" gear in tribute to Marvin hagler. For anybody who says he wasn't in tip top shape that means he disrespected hagler.
Still respect your boxing opinion. I know you hate crawford though. You'll give him props when he takes canelo apart inside and out.

Almost everyone else on RBR had Porter up, 2 of the biased official judges only had Crawford up 1. So I can't take you seriously saying Porter only won 3 rounds. So we're even! Sure, Porter was in decent shape, but he also retired after the match, so make of that what you will. Clearly he was already in the mindset that his career was coming to an end. I respect yours. But as much as I dislike Crawford (and Canelo), is equaled by how much you dislike Canelo and like Crawford. So it all balances out. If Crawford wins, sure he'll get full credit from me, because it'll be an incredible achievement. Although I have a hard time seeing that outcome. Question is, if Canelo beats him fairly, how much credit will he deserve?

Yes but, Saunders and Plant are actual Super Middleweights compared to Crawford, who'll be a chubby Welterweight. I doubt the current version of Canelo would beat that Saunders, but Plant is trash and he gasses late, so at the very least, he might drop him a time or two. Clenelo's vicious KO power has vanished, obviously because he's not roided to the gills, but he still hits hard enough to keep legit SMW's skittish. So it's not like he's featherfisted. Personally, I think it's a little of both, why stick around LMW and fight the likes of Ortiz, Ennis, Murtazaliev, Fundora, Bohachuk and Zayas? When he barely beat Madrimov. Alimkhanuly destroys him at 160, other than that it's a wasteland. So to Bud, this is a gamble and his best possible option. If he loses, Canelo was too big, he dared to be great... no big deal. If he wins, he'll proclaim himself the greatest of this era and retire. So I don't think he's confident but merely taking a calculated risk, which may not pay off.

To me this is kind of an interesting matchup because it is kind of hard to predict with canelo being way post prime and crawford getting older and going up 2 more weight classes after not looking great against madrimov.

But it comes at the expense of other more valuable matchups. Canelo could finally start doing relevant defenses of ALL the belts at super middle. And crawford also has interesting matchups around the weight he earned his reputation at.

For those saying canelo can do whatever he wants and is amazing because he has had a dozen or more high profile fights:

Leaving aside the fact that he should have more losses than he has while having taken EVERY a-side advantage you can get he can do whatever he wants once he relinquished the stupid belts.

True, everyone two weight classes up and down begs for the canelo payday which holds up like 4 divisions because noone wanted to take a loss for years in hopes of getting that fight and hitting the jackpot. But at least these others could have competed for the titles if canelo doesn't even deign to defend them like he should. Look at how usyk is in the spotlight for maybe not taking the parker fight. That's how it should have been done with canelo for years.

Canelo can do what he wants. He brings more money than anyone else. But you have to be a fanboy if you don't see that he costs us interesting fights.

As a fan of the sport I will be glad when Canelo retires and the black hole of his payday dangling in front of and attracting fighters to stall and wait who would otherwise be willing to test themselves and going for their own legacy finally vanishes.

It is Canelos fault only insofar as he does not properly defend the stupid belts, the other fighters waiting for the payday are obviously equally to blame. But the event that will finally change the situation is Canelos retirement.

    Crawford winning MIGHT help

I prefer Crawford to Canelo. Crawford is a great fighter. Canelo, minus all the advantages etc is a very good fighter and past his best. I think Crawford will be too good.

Plant is a legit SMW. Saunders is not. We'll see what happens it's certainly not a fight I'd be confident in either way. But Clenelo fanboys need to remembers all of the gifts and close fights he's had over the years and understand this a certainly a fight he could lose. Of course he sees the $$$ signs but he's definitely not going to show up to lie down like Clownlo did and has attributes that have historically bothered Clenelo. Of course casuals will claim he's the greatest of the era because they but in the Clenelo smoke and mirrors manufactured boxing career. Usyk, Inoue and Lomachenko(with less corruption and little bit of luck on his side) are the best of this era. Crawford might have an argument for 2 or 3 but certainly not above Usyk who has unified CW and HW while fighting away in literally every fight.

I'd be careful about that prediction, after all.... Crawford is the Trinidad in this equation.:sisi1 I don't know if Crawford is confident or not, I'm assuming he is, most fighters who are as full of themselves as he is, clearly don't lack in self confidence. Still, to say he's gambling shouldn't necessarily be seen as an insult. Most people who jump up a division or two probably think they have a winning strategy they can implement as well. But ultimately, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Because you're not taking into consideration, Canelo will be super motivated as well. He knows he struggles with this style, an it's one thing to lose to a much bigger guy like Bivol, losing to a guy that started at 135 is somethin else entirely. So Canelo will definitely come fully prepared, and as always the judges will be on his side.

Canelo weighed 140 20 years ago bro- at age 15. Canelo is not small for 168, he just grew into his frame. He outgrew 154 and has been fighting at "Caneloweight" and up since 2015, why do y'all pretend like this is a small guy?

Officially, Canelo. Will be watching this one with my mexican-american wife and her family. Might have to go 12 rounds with a couple of her cousins if I root against Canelo.

Unofficially, Crawford, because I'm annoyed at Canelo.
