As a former WBC champion in good standing with the organization, Wilder can simply request the WBC allow him a title shot. The WBC can allow Wilder the mandatory ahead of Kabayel. Similar to Usyk asking the WBO to rank him #1 at heavyweight and the mandatory without having any heavyweight fights, ahead of their #1 Whyte, who the WBO subsequently bounced unceremoniously.
The fight was in 2016, I am not going to apologize for not remembering that little post fight tidbit. Actually, now that I think of it, I don't really keep track of injuries at all.
At the time, so was Foreman-Moorer. They didn't even put it on PPV because nobody thought it was a serious match. Maybe Usyk-Wilder will be a non-PPV DAZN show, too.
Which he never has and never will - even if he could've at his peak, he refused to try... So doesn't deserve any credit for assumptions that might get made as to his capability at that level.
Wilder , shot as he may be , seems still to be not comfortable for usyk . Latest rumours claim he really wants to fight nobody less than jake paul at mma !!! https://sports.yahoo.com/article/ol...R0_oKzAttJ1EvZ4PXr5q7xFuZp7byzCkFsxVj37OmBnsH
He doesn't. He just didn't look good, that's all. He hit Herndon with flush shots from his "legendary" right hand and he was still standing. And we should give Wilder credit for sparking Helenius in a round. I never claimed Ajagba and Torrez were better than Wilder so you're just arguing with yourself here. AJ looked awful against Helenius btw. Maybe it's because he dominated over second and third tier heavyweight and avoided top opposition. But it's just me playing the guessing game. Also: being a sore loser and the biggest excuse maker in the history of the sport. Nobody argues that Usyk beats Wilder because of the triangle theory. It's because Usyk actually beat top competition and many different styles, while Wilder lost almost every fight at the top level. Fury was robbed in that first Wilder fight and after that Deontay was destroyed twice. Says a lot about Deontay's resume that his biggest accomplishment is a draw with out of shape Fury coming back after 2 year cocaine binge. Of course you do. I would love to see it too if I was a Wilder fanboy.
Not me. I'll just take a page out of the Fury fanboys book of nuthuggary. Once the contract is penned, Wilder will become the most devastating puncher in boxing history. He once had a 95% ko rating. The most explosive and dangerous fighter in our generation. Sure, he only has a right hand, but like Bruce Lee said, never fear the man the practiced 10000 punches once, fear the man that practiced 1 punch 10000 times. Wilder top 5 hw for over a decade. LOL
A high profile cherry pick....... Wilder has never been an elite fighter and has been exposed multiple times of not being able to showcase anything in the ring outside of his Hail Mary club punch. His biggest win was over Stiverne then followed it up by fighting him again almost 3 years later with Stiverne coming off of an involuntary retirement...... I don't like and don't care about the match up. Wilder shouldn't be fighting anyone with a title ever again in his career. Wilder at this point should be looking to cash out and ride off into the sunset........Wilder vs Jake Paul.......then retirement.
Is it? Or is it you refusing to indulge in someone else's guessing game? When anyone starts talking about a fighter as being better than they ever proved, picking them H2H against much better proven fighters, etc... they're the ones indulging in guessing games. Not only that, they're guessing against the odds - the higher up the levels you get, the fewer fighters are capable of succeeding... Which means you're more likely to be correct if you assume someone was no better, or very little better, than they actually proved than you are if you assume they were way better than they proved and you pick them H2H against guys way better than them. There's no doubt Wilder was excellent against journeymen and good against gatekeepers... The problem is that he lost to contenders without beating any and got given big gifts in Ortiz 1 and Fury 1, both of which should have been losses. Maybe if he'd fought more contenders, he'd have won a couple? If he'd taken aim to unifying with Parker? Or accepted the numerous pleas from Whyte to stop being such a ***** and fight? Or the same from Joshua? Or even voluntarily gone back to Povetkin (and the excuses about not fighting drug cheats don't fly when he chose Fury)? Or, maybe he'd have lost the lot and knew it... We'll never know, because of his own choices (or at least his team's choices), but as above, the odds are typically strongly against it.
