Not if it's Foreman scoring the knock down. Fury might get up.. once..

It's not only that he's had alot of mediocre performances against mediocre opposition.

Fury who was in his prime and in shape vs Wallin almost lost to him and that struggle vs Wallin has aged very poorly as Wallin got destroyed by Joshua and lost 12-0 to a 40 year old Chisora.

Fury got decked by Cunningham who had 1 stoppage in his 12 fights at Heavyweight who also has a low KO ratio at only 40 percent.

Fury has been decked what 9 or 10 times ? And half of them have come against unranked opposition.

I don't rate Fury as high as people do in this thread.

I'm not saying Fury hasn't got talent and he's a big man so he would still be a stylistic issue based on that.

But to put it into perspective since Fury won the title in 2015 in a decade he's only beat 2 top 10 ranked Heavyweights so he's not as proven as some people think.

People like to rubbish Holmes's reign but in a 7 year period he beat 5x times as many ranked contenders as Fury did in a decade.

Fury just isn't in the class of fighters like Foreman.

He's always going to be a problem because of his size, as well as his having above average ability - more than we've seen from the vast majority of super heavyweights in the past 20 years.

But there are levels and Foreman exists in a higher tier.

Yeah it is there are Swarmers, Out-boxers, Punchers and Brawlers etc these are established terms by professional Pokémon trainers and there are several tiers ATG being the highest which are immune to the archetypes. YDKSAB.

No he wasn't... ...no more than Schmeling was in Louis's class, or Zivic was in Armstrong's class, or Turpin was in Robinson's class, or Johansson was in Patterson's class, or Douglas was in Tyson's class, or Rahman was Lewis's class... ... ... ... ... ... ... You get the picture.

However, your OP does mention that one could use the versions of the fighters they’d like and we all know that your favorite version of Foreman is the one that lost to Jimmy Young.

The version against Jimmy Young was actually the best I’d seen GF he mixed his shots well, was in good condition… GF lasted to the final round too, showed late round power, almost caught and finished Young in the mid rounds and looked a weight class bigger then JY where as in the Ali fight he looked a little “flat” it’s likely he’d stopped starving himself as much and actually drank water. GF just lost and it happens.

Because he lost it can’t be the best version? If he’d kept fighting and wasn’t paid a visit by Jesus he’d have gotten better than he ever was.
GF was improving from the first bout back against Lyle it looked like he was actively working on things instead of doing his windmill impression which almost costed him against Ronnie… and like the green horn novice he was when he punched himself out in Zaire.
if you gave him Norton again he’d have dispatched of him and same as the shot version of Frazier he steam rolled as neither of those guys were a threat, you’re caught up in the hype that should’ve died in the 70s when he retired against an objectively not very good boxer.

Each of them got up from big punchers several times. Fury got up from Wilder’s best and Foreman got up from Lyle’s best. Each guy probably hits the canvas but George was a better overall boxer. I like Foreman by UD.

Second best version of Foreman is the one that lost to Briggs.
