Damn good post.... That Ortiz fight should have been stopped in the 9th. Ortiz was beating on him for 45 seconds without him responding. Anyone else, they would have called it, instead, the ref was about as attentive as a teenager texting while driving.
There would be nothing hilarious about it except those who call him a clown, paying to see a terrible fight because he'll still walk away with millions. As a boxing fan I don't want to see obvious mismatches at this level. Usyk is the top dog of the division. I only want to see him in a fight that's competitive vs someone who wants to, is trying to, and is capable of upsetting him and taking the titles. If we aren't getting that then why are we paying attention to this sport. If we just want to be entertain by things that lack competition, then go watch WWE..... Hell, that's probably where Wilder should take his talents anyway at this point.... He can get a ring walk with explosions, theme music, and he can wear his "heavy attir" that he wore for the 2nd Fury fight entrance......lol
It would be hilarious to see the deluded clown take another beating and if anyone deserves a easy tune up it's Usyk I can't recall him ever having one.
I don't think anyone will be able to convince me that they treated Ortiz fairly in the rematch either. Ortiz was way up on the cards. He gets put down hard but with the 7th round ended. And the referee grabs him as he is rising at 9 and starts waving it off as he pulls Ortiz off balance. ref: Kenny Bayless Eric Cheek 56-58 Dave Moretti 55-59 Steve Weisfeld 55-59 Notice who the referee was, the same guy Wilder himself was calling corrupt 3 months later. lol They completely stage-managed Ortiz out of the title, not once, but twice. Wilder's name shouldn't even be mentioned as a whisper to fight Usyk
I highly doubt it would be hilarious by majority of the people. I find it weird when fans have a personal vendetta vs a fighter who they've never met and he's done nothing ill towards them....but that's just me. As far as Usyk needing a tune up...... A tune up for what exactly.... Who is it that he is preparing for in which he needs to find a mediocre opponent..... And let's stop acting like everyone he's face were elite. He's had quite a few favorable match ups in which he capitalized on. Whiterspoon, Gassiev, Huck, etc..
Wow.....I totally forgot that Kenny Bayless was the ref for that fight..... Damn.. And I totally agree. Ortiz is probably one of the best HWs to never win a world title.... That 2nd fight Ortiz was so efficient in breaking Wilder down. Just got caught at the perfect time for Wilder, and with the help of Kenny, it ends his night. Kenny was the referee for a lot of fights in which I hated the officiating. PBC loved to have him there for their fighters.
This is absurd. Witherspoon was the only fight he could get at the moment as an introduction to the division. Huck is tied for the most number of defenses at cruiser, and despite being past it, part of the tournament. Gassiev was a unified cruiserweight champion and the fight was for undisputed. This is a really, really bad post.
Yep I wasn't gonna bother replying because of how dumb it was. Imagine thinking Gassiev and Huck were tune ups? Gassiev was the final of the WBSS.
So according to your logic you shouldn't dislike anybody you don't know personally? That's not how the world works lad. I never disliked Wilder until he started making ridiculous accusations towards Tyson Fury who I was a big fan of. Usyk has earned the right to fight whoever he wants a Wilder fight would be no different to Mayweather fighting Andre Berto. As for calling Gassiev and Huck tune ups? LOL GTFO.
If guys like Dubois, Fury and AJ could land the right hand on Usyk, just imagine what Deontay would do to him. Folks, Usyk has to stay clear of Wilder. If he knows what's good for him.
Usyk can surely fight who he wants. Beating Wilder would be one last, but now faint, question mark erased and he would have the full house of beating the top guys from his era. As far as I am concerned he can do what he wants now. Road warrior, honourable, decent human being, national hero, transcends boxing in a positive way, in a way Ive not seen since Ali retrospectively did. He deserves everything he can get from life.
